I know this is a tall order but....

There's a very sombre rock track that's been used on telly (UK) quite a bit recently - mostly advert(s) I think.

It's a slow build up with a repeating simple guitar motiff (2 notes I think) before drums kick in...then the piece of film ends.

Sounds a bit like Radiohead but I don't think it's them (at least nothing off Bends, OK Computer or Kid A).

That's the only info I can give you :?

Any ideas anyone

Kind of apt name for the first response to this...

No I'm afraid not - but I'm pretty sure the track is fairly well known (except by me).

As I said it's a very sombre, weighty track - in minor key. And sounds like it could be the intro to a Radiohead track (in their heyday).

This is probably less info than a tuneless whistling rendition to a junior record shop assistant :)

For some reason I'm thinking Snow Patrol? Can't think of any ads that feature it though..

just try to remember a part of the tune. i had this problem a few weeks ago, trying to remember a song i'd heard once in a shop. i could roughly remember the bassline, so i cobbled together a quick few bars with some bogstandard vstis and sent an mp3 to a friend, and they helped me track that song down.

make a clip for us. don't worry that it's not precise, i'm sure you can remember parts of the tune, this will help us to help you. and remember what you saw in the advert too!
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
