Just got this set...and some of Daniels best programming yet! I bow to the master of the Rhino

Once I got to borrow an OB8 with a MIDI retrofit..and what a sound. This bank demonstrates it and even might be worth getting Rhino JUST FOR THIS SET! I am floored!



Thank you Daniel for a wonderful set. Just a Q: and maybe you already answered this: what Oberhiems did you use for the samples.?

Thanks, Tim. I do hope more people will buy Rhino because it's a very capable synth. It is really my favorite one to program and it surprizes and awes me, still.

Samples and inspiration came from a Matrix 12 and 1000. Most samples were programmed from scratch prior to recording. The samples were made to be useful in more than just one patch; some sound quite generic. All the magic came from Rhino to get that huge fat sound. Doing an A/B comparison of the two, Rhino sounded better everytime!

I want to buy both Classic OB2 and 3 (I already have 1, or I'd buy the bundle). It looks like there's no easy way at the moment to buy both of them without them being separate purchases... each time I click "continue shopping" the cart comes up empty except for the most recent one I added to the cart.

Anyone else have this problem? I didn't have this problem a month or two ago, when I bought classic Moog & Classic OB1, I believe.

Oh well, I'll still buy it...

What's next? Currently under way is a new set that is not analog. Until audio demos are ready in a few weeks all I can say is a few patches even impressed my wife.

Are they sample based?

New waveforms are included because these huge layers would simply eat too much CPU. Many of the waves use over 24 oscilators per note! Without sampling, a 5 note chord would need 120 osc. Imagine four of these layered together...

However, this set is not solely based on new samples like the last three banks were. Many of Rhino's factory waveforms are used and layered with the new waves.

man, that is impressive
my wife wasn't much of a music critic still I started handing her the headphones during TV's commercial breaks and asking her what she thought of what I was working on.
she's developed a whole vocabulary for describing sounds and problem areas.
if she listens all the way through i'm onto something. Her three favorite comments:
'this isn't this the same thing i listened to last night. what happened to the ...'
'don't change anything else.'
'get rid of the drums.'
