Hi all. I need to know some good pitch shifters for the purpose of transposing a whole song in .wav format for lets say 2-3 semitones up or down and still sound decently!
I know Melodyne but it only does monophonic parts and instruments.
Thank you all in advance,
Cheers.

Tell me, is this likely to be good enough?
Download Choir Boy
I'm working on it at the moment.
P.S. It Works in Stereo.

Audacity is a free wave editor and it has a pitch shifting algorithm with semi-decent results.
For better quality you have to go with something equiped with the MPEX algorithm (e.g. Wavelab, Cubase, Sonar ...)
BTW kalosirthes sto KVR

Just tryied out the choir boy.Though its a nice plugin it is not suitable for my purpose.
What I want to do is for example: I have this song in E minor and I want it to be transposed in D minor cause the singer has a bad throat. The song is in .wav format stero and with no lyrics (just like a karaoke song).
Is there anyway to accomplish that or it is impossible ?
BTW,nice to find another Greek in this forum Zeoy.

That's easy with audacity Simon. The problem is that even with the best algorithms the pitch shifted tune will not sound totally natural. But if it's meant to be only a backtrack to help you record the vocalist that will be no problem.

Check out Audiodamage's Discord; it's a pretty nice shifter.

I worked with the Rephrase demo a bit and found it very usefull. It allow you to work in detail on each syllable / phrase and it has a very good GUI. You can even pitch shift from a major to minor key if you so wish. A lot more work involved than the all-in-one-go approach of Audacity, but the end results might be much better.
