I thought one of the ideas of House music was to ignore classic chord build-ups and progressions, but just do whatever sounds right / original.
Put your right index finger somewhere on the keyboard. Skip one key, put the middle finger on the next key. Skip another key and put your ring finger there. Presto: a chord is born!! Who cares what it's name is in theory. If you count the keys inbetween the fingers (also count black ones) then you know the intervals.
Move one finger up or down (don't forget to also use black keys) and see weather it is better or not. Keep on moving the fingers and you have "chord progression".
Play around on the keyboard and you will come across familiar chords and progressions. Have fun!

thanks for your replies
I thought I had read something somewhere about house music using stacks of 3rd and 5th intervals, or stacks of just fifth intervals
but I'll take the advice to just play around and see what sounds good
maybe I'll find my own "mystic chord" and go preach to the trees
