Thanks to all who recommeded the EZ Guitars. I've finally bought an EZ-EG from Japan during my trip to Tokyo last week. The one I bought does not include an USB interface, but it only cost around USD240 :)

I've put together a VBScript. The features are set to my own needs, but maybe some of you guys might found it useful.

(Please rename the txt file to .vbs)

Features
- 4 play modes, selectable by switching to Song no. 1 to 4
- Transpose the fretboard by -1 octave to +3 octaves, selectable by switching to Sound no. 20, 1, 2, 3 & 4 respectively
- In mode 1 to 3, all signals are diverted to MIDI Ch. 1

Mode 1 (Solo Mode)
- Open strings are disabled to avoid unwanted triggered notes
- Hammer-on and pull-off are disabled to avoid double notes when playing solo

Mode 2 (Chord Mode)
- Same as mode 1, except that releasing a fret will not send note off. Pick an open string to mute it

Mode 3 (Fretboard Mode)
- The strings are disabled
- Pressing a fret will send note on. Hammer-on and pull-off are enabled
- Default note velocity is 95. Pulling up the trem bar will add to the velocity, pushing down will reduce it.
- The trem bar is also routed to the Mod Wheel. No pitch bend data will be sent.

Mode 4 (Normal Mode)
- Same as the original factory settings, except all note at velocity 16 are filtered, and you can transpose the fretboard with the Sound Select controls

Oh no, yet another programmer in competition for the EZ-*G market!

I promise you, eventually there will be One Script To Rule Them All. :hihi: Marc and I are hoping to have something ready soon (having aborted our individual efforts to merge on a new architecture). It will be very configurable by the user from a GUI and should cover everyone's needs. Oh, and also highly-customizable for anyone with VBscript or JScript skills! ;)
