I've just read an article on Sampletank in Computer Music Magazine on a Midi Keyboard'Keyrange Split.'Which enables you to play a bass with one hand on the lower keys and an organ in the higher keys.

I have a Roland ED PC-180A Midi Controller Keyboard. I can't find anything on 'Keyrange Split' in the manual. Does this mean I won't be able to do it??
Or is there some way of doing this within Sampletank??

The reason I want this feature is so I can play in realtime my heavily effected reverb snare on one hand and my dry kit on the other.
Is there another way of doing this without using this 'Keyrange split?'

I'd be greatful of any help.

See ya.

Although I haven't done it myself, I believe you could approximate a keyrange split using the Zone editing.

Load 1 kit and zone edit mute the samples for one hand

Load a second kit to the same midi channel and zone edit mute the samples for the other hand

Or

Wait for St 2.1 which will have actual keyrange split. Free upgrade is due this spring.

I'll try the zone editing idea and thats good news about the keyrange split upgrade.

A free update to ST2.1 will allow this easily. That's coming soon.
