steps 'hammerhead-alike' drum seq released

all in all 'steps' works like a charm in audiomulch.
the only thing i find a bit annoying is:
if you stop playback and start it again
(play/stop button in host),
'steps' always restarts the programmed sequence
regardless of 'where you are in the host timeline'
(even with just one measure used).
so i guess it doesn't perfectly sync
to the host time & position info.
thanks for this plug.
tobias.

ok, just loading it up.
the GUI's fine - actually, it's good, but maybe the contrast could be increased a smidge
let the experiment begin...
*edit* the colours of the on/off indicators aren't 100% clueless-proof. I mean, I understand them, but perhaps the colour for 'on' could be a little more glaringly obvious
*edit* any chance of being able to enter text labels for 1-6? or stretch the GUI
10 slots? (should cover a workhorse trap kit)
multiple [stacked] wavs per slot, triggering of wav dependent on velocity?
oh
seems to work perfectly here
P4 1.7m/XP home/512Mb/Tracktion/onboard sound or Edirol UA-20/blah

thanks for the brainwave!tl wrote:all in all 'steps' works like a charm in audiomulch.
i usually produce internal clock with oscillators that sync to the transport, eg. at 'go,' but will probably start to drift if you let it run for 1/2 hour, ergo the sync problem if you start it off a measure mark.
i think from now on i'll produce pulses off comparators on the '% of beat' pin on ck's host clock module.. thinknig same or less cpu..
on the gui.. i'm not a fan of high-contrast images so i try and minimise within effective boundaries, but trying to keep colour blind users as well as different monitor types in mind et al.. if it relly ain't working i'll give it immediate attention, otherwise i'll 2.0 that consideration :p same for lobster. it makes some sense, really.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

not after "high-contrast" per se, just "slightly higher contrast", and perhaps "idiot indicators" - bright fluorescent whatever for "on"xoxos wrote:on the gui.. i'm not a fan of high-contrast images so i try and minimise within effective boundaries, but trying to keep colour blind users as well as different monitor types in mind et al.. if it relly ain't working i'll give it immediate attention

no blood on my land! i get the whole contrast thing but figured the on/off colours would evince rapidly
(okay, given beta history, i concede..)

it just occured to me that you might do well with an interpretation of the classic bob marley "jammin" except make it "salmon."
right straight for the lord
swimmin up a fjord? shrug

Ooh, yeah! All right!
We're salmon:
I wanna salmon wid you.
We're salmon, salmon,
And I hope you like salmon, too.
Ain't no rules, ain't no vow, we can do it anyhow:
I'n'I will see you through,
'Cos everyday we pay the price with a little sacrifice,
Salmon till the jam is through.
We're salmon -
To think that salmon was a thing of the past;
We're salmon,
And I hope this salmon will last.
No bullet can stop us now, we neither beg nor we won't bow;
Neither can be bought nor sold.
We all defend the right; Jah - Jah children must unite:
Your life is worth much more than gold.
We're salmon (salmon, salmon, salmon)
And we're salmon in the name of the Lord;
We're salmon (salmon, salmon, salmon),
We're salmon swimming straight up the fjord.
Yeh! Rurik Leffanta;
Holy Leffanta:
Jah sitteth in Leffanta
And rules all creation.
Yeah, we're - we're salmon (wotcha-wa),
Wotcha-wa-wa-wa, we're salmon (wotcha-wa),
See, I wanna salmon wid you
We're salmon (salmon, salmon, salmon)
I'm salmon: I hope you're salmon, too.
Salmon’s about my pride and truth I cannot hide
To keep you satisfied.
True love that now exist is the love I can't resist,
So salmon by my side.
We're Salmon (salmon, salmon, salmon), yeah-eah-eah!
I wanna salmon wid you.
We're salmon, we're salmon, we're salmon, we're salmon,

We're salmon, we're salmon (salmon).
I wanna (I wanna salmon wid you) - I wanna -
I wanna salmon you now.
Salmon, salmon (hope you like salmon too).
Eh-eh! I hope you like salmon, I hope you like salmon,
'Cause (I wanna salmon wid you). I wanna ... wid you.

ok ok! $20 and a shoulder massage...er...'voucher'xoxos wrote:only the rich kids at my school had marley records. :p
and that's my worst offer!
the stacked wav thing...
i only suggested it because, by the time you've loaded up kick/snare/OHH/CHH/crash/ride, that's all 6 slots filled, and a lot of freely available kits have more than one variation on each sound.
just thought you could have a sort of wav 'matrix', the sound selected being determined by velocity
eg...hang on...

..which is great, except the sequencer doesn't feature velocity, at least not very much.
