well then here's a toast to the Barrons!

Forbidden Planet was one of the keystones of my development even before I could remember movie plots, and it sucks so much that they didn't even get screen credit

and going out to the movies I was always prone to stay to watch the credits, even though I didn't know any of the names

so let's say the next crowd is starting to come into the theater, and the names of Louis and Bebe Barron are scrolling up on the screen :)

cheers!

Ahhhh, there's the man and his 'miserable monster'. ;)

Your welcome :)

When I was a kid and saw this movie for the first time (if I remember correctly sometime in 1960-61 late on a Saturday night) I thought that the music was really made by the Krell. It did not dawn on me that humans could make such music.

Glad you searched him out then. A brilliant book about him called 'The Sackbutt Blues' is around here somewhere? A must have for any synth history buff IMO. ;)

And Forbidden Planet - the 'Star Wars' of it's day.

But knowing it came from Shakesperes 'The Tempest', and starring Leslie Neilsen from Naked Gun, and the gargantuan 'Stay Puff Robbie The Robot' that went on to Lost In Space fame - I just can't watch that movie with a straight face anymore.

Now Walter Pigeon as the mad sex scientist in Wooody Allens 'Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex (But Were To Afraid To Ask)' Now that's a fine piece of Science Fiction!
