Ok this may be old news to some but I just read the installation notes as I was about to go from 3.2 ->3.5
"For Pluggo 3.2 Users
Your existing Pluggo 3 authorization will not work with Pluggo 3.5, because we now use PACE challenge/response and iLok authorization. After installing Pluggo 3.5 you will need to submit a request for an authorization to eliminate the demo buzz when using the plug-ins...
Copy Protection
After installing Pluggo, a PACE installer will run adding software necessary for Pluggo’s copy protection to your system. These copy protection files will not interfere with the operation of your system in any way."
Anyone upgraded to 3.5 yet - should I stick to my working perfectly 3.2? How long to hear back from C74 with your key?
Thoughts?
Opinions?
Am I paranoid?
Cheers,
Dave

Hmm... I hope this will not happen to any of the plugs that I own.
It would put me in a spot that I do not want to be in.
One thing for sure, you have to e-mail the developer and let them know how you feel.
Let them know that if you were to know that they would do this you would have never bought their product.
We the honest end users need to be very clear about this when communicating with developers.

I updated and it took C74 about 24hrs to get me my key. Wasn't a big deal for me because I didn't have anything going that involved pluggo. It's too bad that companies have to resort to using copy protection like PACE (don't like things being installed in my root directory without having a choice in the matter), but I understand their desire to curb the use of warez. Besides, C74 is good people so I give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your thoughts!
Im not that scared of PACE although it seems to be a bit of a heated topic round here at times
What gets me is 3.2 is working fine do I really need to install crap I dont want on my machine just to stay current?
I do indeed feel like I will install it as C74 have been excellent helping me out in the past... I do trust 'em just thought it was a strange move but I can understand it.
Have to wait till Monday tho - couldnt put up with buzzing in me plugs till I get a reply
Thanks again!
