Sonic Synth AU version?

I purchased Sonic Synth awhile ago via the group buy, and though I had intended to run it via my PC, I'm now wondering if I could run it In Logic 7 on my G5. I can find no references to Audio Units related to Sonic Synth or Sonic Synth 2 here or on their website, and have thus far received no answers via email from support. Is Sonic Synth OSX/AU compatible? How about Sonic Synth 2?

Definately runs on a Mac. Sonik Synth 2 says OS X 10.2.8 or later. HTH

Thanks. The specs are pretty cryptic, and I'm getting the impression that Sonic Synth I is probably not going to work in Logic 7 without a VST wrapper. But I'd love it if someone from Sonic would either refute or confirm that.

Well I am not sure this will help you all that much but it may serve to reframe the question.seanmccoy wrote: I'm getting the impression that Sonic Synth I is probably not going to work in Logic 7 without a VST wrapper.
SS1 itself doesn't really run on anything. It was a collection of sounds that was bundled with the original Sampletank 1 engine. They do however also run with the new Sampletank 2 engine. So the real question you want answered is will Sampletank 1 or Sampletank 2 run with Logic 7. I don't know the answer for sure but my guess would be that Sampletank 1 does not but Sampletank 2 does. As I understand it LOgic 7 is pretty finicky about what vst's it will run. Perhaps someone with this set-up can answer more definatively.
SS2 does have its own interface which is powered by the ST2 engine underneath, but it is a closed system. Therefore, although it is an OUTSTANDING collection of sounds, combis and effects, it will not allow you to run SS1 under its interface.
Hope this helps but I probably just muddied up the waters.

I am running it right now on Logic 6 as an AU plugin- works like a champ.seanmccoy wrote:I purchased Sonic Synth awhile ago via the group buy, and though I had intended to run it via my PC, I'm now wondering if I could run it In Logic 7 on my G5. Ah, good to hear! Just to verify, you're running Sonic Synth 1 as an AU without a wrapper?niversen wrote:I am running it right now on Logic 6 as an AU plugin- works like a champ.

Sonik Synth 2 is Audio Units for OSX. Sonic Synth 1/ST1 LE was not. I recommend upgrading to Sonik Synth 2 while the price is low because the discounted upgrade will be ending soon. Here's a direct link: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... ductID=242
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can see which formats it supports and AU is there. Maybe we should be putting this information up top on the side or something. I will inform our webmaster that this important information is somehow being missed. Thanks for the head's up.
Sonik Synth 2 won't run your Sonic Synth 1 sounds though. It does have a new set of sounds that incorporates the "best of" the old sounds. You can STILL run the SS1 sounds under SampleTank 2 LE or L/XL if you get it at some point. LE is easy to get because it comes with any Expansion Tank or Sonik Capsule title very inexpensively. But, you can also get an inexpensive discount crossgrade to SampleTank 2. In fact, there's a limited time special to crossgrade to the L version which has never been available before. It's only $199 (as opposed to $299 to get to XL). So, you might like that route (and others who are just hearing about it... it's a brand new deal).
Good luck!

Thanks, Squids. The Group Buy package I got included Sample Tank 2 LE (as well as Omnisynth and a bonus library), which does appear to have an AU version. Does that change anything regarding the possibility of using Sonic Synth 1 in Logic 7? Excuse my ignorance, here, as I'm as yet unfamiliar with the structure and functionality of your products.

Then yes. SampleTank 2 LE will work as an AU plug-in for Logic 7 and Sonic Synth 1 will because it is sounds that load into SampleTank 2 LE.seanmccoy wrote:Thanks, Squids. You still qualify for the upgrade which is a fantastic deal for the money to get Sonik Synth 2. You get 4 times the amount of sounds plus new features.
