Does room temprature effect your hearing?

The real reason that temperature can effect sound is because of how fast the sound travels through the air. Humidity has a big effect. The sound can sometimes be thinned out. Almost filtered in a way. It can take the waveform longer to travel to your ears, and longer for the waveform to actually "form." The standard wavelength measurements are usually measured at around 70 degrees.

So the temp makes a big difference in sound. However, as was said, in your home, it won't be a significant change. It's probably the relaxed issue. And the time of day also brings about how "awake" your ears are, or how irritated they are.

So many factors, you wonder how anyone makes great productions. :D

Sound travels kinetically from molecules hitting eachother (think of balls hitting eachother in a game of pool). When it is colder, the molecules in the air are closer together so there are more collisions, which makes the sound decay faster (and run through the air more slowly as well as travel less of a distance).

Exactly. Sorry, I guess I really didn't go into HOW it worked that way. Thanks!

am i wrong or but do most RT60 calculators(a reverb calc), not have a temperature input?

well if everyone's calculating reverb times with a formula that doesnt include temperature, then maybe temp. doesnt affect our hearing that much?

Well that formula calculates reverb in a room. Like we said earlier, the range of temperatures wouldn't vary enough to have a considerable effect.
