Does anybody know if there is a way to setup antti's ASynth as a filter insert fx? I can't get it work

If its not possible, can anybody recommend me a good Low Pass filter (free perhaps)? I'm using FL Studio 5 and stuck with layering 3 different synth together to get a specific sound. So, its a nightmare to automate cutoff on all three of them at the same time. Fruity's Filter is horrible, and even when its open - changes my sound with some resonance and distortion.

Any suggestions for a good clean filter that will not add any coloring to my sound, please?

Set all 3 synths to same channel. That way only one filter needed. BTW fruity filter is the best for me.

man, that's the biggest contradiction in terms i ever heard! filters are DESIGNED to add/remove colouration from a sound!!!

my fave freeware filter is obertone filterbank, available here:

Guys, you are missing a point. I do have all of these 3 synth set to the same FX channel. I just can not find a good filter to take care of the job.

Fruity filter is a crap

Yes, filter supposed to remove frequenies and that will change the sound. But, I would like to have a clean transparency when filter is OPEN. In case of Fruity filter, even when its open and I do A/B comparison when filter is enabled/disabled - the sound changes way too much. Do you know what I mean?

Just tried Oh My God filter from my CM DVD, and this one is really good when its open - very clean and transparent. Too bad it has only one filter slope which is fixed. I guess I will have to check out Quad-Frohmage which I assume OMG was taken out of.

you are looking for a filter with UNITY thru.

(loads dont do this, and yes Fruity Filter is utter shit)

actually that doesnt give Unity thru either.

Classic Auto Filter does true Unity Thru, no midi control but your host should handle that.

pick a blank preset and Bingo, Multi Mode as well.

Crayonfilter is a good choice, a good implementation of an SVFilter.

Could also check out KarmaFX Filter. very simple, good sound, allows both one pole and two-pole.

Ohmygod is a comb filter (with a distortion and multimode filter built in), completely different from a lowpass filter.

ASynth does not work as insert fx (it has no inputs).
If you wait a month or two, your problems should be solved (no, ASynth will not do it, but Something will be happening)...

@ multree: your filter is fun! But still, with drive set to 0, it amplifies and slightly distorts my synth sound.

@ shamann: Karma filter is good! Very close to what I'm looking for.

So, I'm in between Karma filter and Ohmforce (which can be set into a default LP with one of the presets). OMG adds just a little bit of this hardware pleasant warmth, but its default slope at 36 dB (or maybe 24 dB, I think). So, I don't have a wide range for a filter sweep. Two-pole 12 dB Karma filter is good, but slightly rough. Gotta do more testing.

Ohmygod also has a multimode filter on the output, it's not just a comb!
