UAD1/Logic users-please help

today I finally bought the UAD1

..so im in the middle of installing, autorizing, trying and tweaking..

I´m still on OS9 on my stoneold G4 400(that´s why I purchased the UAD ) running Logic pro 6.4.1

right now downloading the latest uad-update, blabla..

my main goal now is to understand, how the delay-compensation works(singlechannels&busses)

I´m digging for information and solutions right now, but if anyone has some useful information for me, please feel free to help!

maybe an example:
I have drums recorded(about 10 tracks of bd, sn, hh, overheads, ..)and those tracks run together to a bus, where I want to insert a uad-plug..so..where do I have to put the delay-comp.plugin to have everything running right?

Cograts!

For audio tracks and audio instruments, you're covered. Logic has PDC on those onjects.

For busses, what you'll need to do is make sure that all used other busses have delay comp plugs on them.

So for example if Bus 1 has 2 UAD plugs, then every other bus will need to a delay comp plug set to compensate for two plugs. If you then add Bus 2 with 4 UAD plugs, then you'll need a delay comp on Bus 1 set to compensate for two plugs (2+2=4) and you'll need to modify the other used busses so that heir delay comp plugs compensate for 4 plugs.

Also, have you been to the UAD forums? They'll probably be aboe to tell you everything you need to know.

I don't know (I don't have a UAD, I just lust after one...) but I wouldn't think so.

thx for the link..right now I´m working on an adapted autoload-song for the uad and I think it would be best to have a delay.comp-plug on every bus I´m using and eventually bypass it when I´m using an uad-plug there.

there´s not too much work because my current autoload is set up like every single channel/instrument gets routed to a bus..I have busses for fx like reverb and delay and I have busses for subgroups like leadvox, backingvox, keys, drums, fx..all those busses are routed to a bus called masterbus before hitting the master output..

so, my plan to have the delay.comp-plug on every bus by default and just bypass, if not needed is kinda cool, no?

but hey, this thing is hot..I´m a happy man and my old G4-buddy is like..whew, finally he gives me some rest!!

yup, i have my autoload for logic similar, but i'm don't have so many busses as you

i cannot wait until that L7 update for delay comp.. cuz most of the time i use cubase for mixing/mastering cuz of this..

I had a few issues and crashes but I know the reason...I don´t dare to tell ya how much Ram I have on my machine!!
..I should really get some used ram, that would solve 70% of my problems...well, nevermind!

good that they change that because on the long run I feel a little pita-factor with this workaround right now..

so, jdg, do you also own and use the mastering plugs?
I gave the demo a quick shot but was too tired to really check(feck, it´s 5:30 in the morning )
..but at first sight the limiter is pretty awsome, me thinks!

hmm, I have crashes somtimes due to presetchanges in uad-plugins..over at the uad-forum I saw a post with similar problems..

..but nobody seems to have a real answer or solution..

my ram situation seems to be ok, I´ve located 180mb to logic and I´ve still a free block of 80mb´s...wow!
