I'm not going to do your homework... Visit the product info pages, and search for the three magic letters "PeeDeeCee".

There's a lot more to hosts than PDC only. I couldn't care less actually.

More appropriately, which ones DON'T support it. AFAIK, FL Studio would be on that list. Did they finally add this in 5?

actually, I did my homework already. that's how I came up with that list.

I was just wondering if I've missed something.

what?? have I misunderstood something? I thaught that the only thing hosts do is pdc? you really mean they do something else, too??? now I'm soooo confused.

afaik, all other hosts miss it =/

at least vst capable sequencers

so that's a pretty long list

I tried fl5 and it didn't seem to have pdc.

Are you sure? I thought FL had PDC for insert fx only. Sure, it's not total PDC, but better than nothing, no?

A suffusion of yellow...

well, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was the inserts that I tried ..

could it be that it's the master effects that has it and not inserts?

Post

how can master effects have pdc? if you slap a plugin with 4096 samples of latency across the master bus, all audio will be delayed by 4096 samples - there is nothing to syncronize.

midi? =)

dunno, I just woke up, sorry ,)

but at least when I slammed voxengo curveeq into an fruity insert it unsynced the track.

Yes, I don't think fruity has pdc of any kind. I remember a thread where the dev basically said it wasn't worth doing because of the small number of pdc-requiring plugins. I disagree, but thats a different discussion.

That said I've never been a FL user so maybe pdc has made it in there in a recent version.

yeah, I've never been a fl user either.. just tried it out for pdc and it didn't /seem/ to have it so ..

any fl users here to prove us wrong?

PDC is not in Fruityloops, and as I understand it, Image Line have ruled out ever including it because ? it can't be incorporated into the existing code. Ditto "Freeze"

Live 4 also has no PDC or Freeze. They are widely hoped for in the next upgrade.

Jules Storer (developer of Tracktion) is reported to have implemented both PDC and Freeze into Tracktion in just over one day.

I've heard the new version of Orion supports PDC. I'll try and find the article.

oh god the myths never stop

tracktion got pdc in one day becuase it had no send fx at the time - ie it got pdc on inserts - just like cubase 5.0, logic 4.8 (i think) and whatever pre sonar cakewalk product existed - all of which had been out for ages

alas the difficult bit is pdc on sends

Last time i looked traktion does not have pdc inside thingie filters becuase feedback looping can be used - but i could be wrong

The next ORION update will include PDC - it salready in the beta and apparantly works fine.
