There's a box you can tick so that there isn't a 2-second pause between tracks, but for some reason it never works for me.....

I do that in WaveLab, if working with continious file just put markers where you want to have new track index and burn.

It works in Nero:

- drag the tracks that you want to burn into the new window

- highlight each track *except* the first track

- right-click, select "Properties"

- in "Pause", type "0"

That should do it. You can NOT change the pause, which actually precedes the track, in the first track. But after that, the pauses can be set to 0 seconds. It *should* give you a continuous play, while still indexed as tracks.

At least, that's how I recall doing it a couple times...

Aw, man, sorry: I didn't read the topic thread correctly. I was sure I had been able to burn uninterrupted CDs with Nero, but maybe I was wrong...

sure works here....

There's a 2 second pause at the *start* of the first track, but unless you plan on looping from the end of the disc to the start, that shouldn't cause you a problem.

No, the 2 secs at the end of the first track. Thats the problem!

go see for yourself in Nero

Sorry, I just did that - no problem! I have to submit a CD for a particular purpose, and did a montage of 4 short pieces. I still wanted them to be able to have them as 4 tracks, so I split the one large montage into 4 wave files, and burned a disc. I set the pauses all to 0 seconds except for the first track, and there is NO pause between the first and second tracks. If there is a pause inserted, it is before the beginning of the first track.

FWIW, this is Nero 5.5.10.9 on WinXP.

I've heard that the burner should support zero-gapping for this and I always get small clicks with Nero when the track switches on a zero gap. I've always overcomed this problem with Wavelab, it will do it regrdless of the burner support. In fact it can do non standard red book stuff like hidden tracks in -22:00 and such.

If its a non-stop mix, why not put it in as one big wav file and set the track numbers in Properties? I've never used it myself but it looks like it allows you to split it wherever you like. Just for the record, I don't get a two-second gap after any tracks when I don't have that check-box checked.

Since I've never done this before (purposely making one large track that could be indexed), I never thought to look. CD blanks are cheap - I'll try one tomorrow. I am also completely clueless as to how to judge what the hardware (cd burner) will or will not support. I guess I probably don't care too much, either! :)

nero always puts a 2 sec gab at the front of the first track; this is normal

weird if you're getting it at the end of the first track though

try this burning software, it's free!
