Manytone-

Would you explain a little more what the benefits would be for a current WusikStation owner to purchase ManyStation?

Also, please clarify, will all, just some, or none of the soundsets for ManyStation be made availabe to WusikStation owners who have not purchased ManyStation?

I like your sound demos, but am not sure what's in this for a WusikStation owner.

Thanks.

Hi
Benefits to WusikStation users are:

1) The soundset collection. On its own, it really is worth more than the entire price of our product. It will load into wusikstation the way it comes, and we would not be any cheaper in price even if we sold it without our Interface and Software. We have alot of High Quality 24 bit Multisampled sets in this package and any WusikStation user should be exremely pleased with the Quality and Content that this adds to their existing collection. It really is different material too than what WusikStation comes with. It is also nearly 1.5 gig of Data. The majority of which is new material made just for this Product.

2) The add on library that we will be producing for the Manystation.
Some of the presets etc. in some of the add on titles may blend the soundsets with the originals that come with the Station, so you will need the MStation original sounds for some addon sets. We have a Bunch of things in the works here! A bunch of Cool sounds are coming.

3) Also our users area that will be online as soon as we set it all up. It will contain more content for free and a place for our users to upload some content. This will be only available to ManyStation regged users, as again, content and presets in here may need the original included sounds to Layer / blend with.

4) WusikStation users get it for $69.99 right now ..
I must be crazy.
This is an unbelievable price for this package ... If you scope our forum a bit, and the Thread in the Market Place here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=75411

you will see the guys that have it already, are loving it, even though they own WusikStation. There is not a product on the market that has this Quality of Samples for this price. Even at our regular full price, I can say the same!

5) A different set of Skins and look.

We chose to sell with the ManyStation VSTi included, as that way you don't have to be a WusikStation user to purchase our Products. This allows us to be more dedicated to producing content for our own Product. I can tell you as a Producer that this motivates me right from the start!
I hope this gives you some insight.
Thanks for the Questions

also..if this helps: I did a FULL set of presets for it..and its a fantastic set of samples. The bass's is to KILL BILL for..or..perhaps Stanley Clark ;-) Hooked my Casio MIDI Guitar up to it, and I thought I was play'in a REAL fender Jazz bass!

But also got into the wave stuff and created some off the wall material as well.( vurt can tell ya)

Just wondering... I'm considering buying ST2 XL as well... will Manystation still add something? Or is it essentially the same (sounds wise) but much cheaper?

Hello Hans
They are different animals although a Bit similiar.

Manystation has less content than ST2, but, the majority of Soundsets included in ManyStation are 24 bit, brand new material. We believe that we have a bit Higher Quality Soundsets overall than most of our competitors / comparable products.

Also being that the sounds in ManyStation were recorded specifically for ManyStation.... That means you presently won't get these sounds anywhere else. I own ST2 XL myself and I do like it. But ManyStation allows me to do things differently than ST2. The Strat, Basses and other Guitars in ManyStation are worth the price we ask on their own, if we had marketed them as a Sample CD.

So really you cannot compare the 2. I mean we are so inexpensive for the Top Quality content we include.

I think they perform great together with no real crossover of Sounds and Functions. Sure some of the same type of sounds are Listed.... But they all are different samples. The functions in each software allow you to manipulate your sounds differently than the other software can.

As for Quantity ... Well, we have more Inexpensive add on sets coming! So one Day we may have as much content. But mainly... Everyone can get in on this type of VSTi for only $99.99 Regular Price.
($79.99 till the 27th Feb 2005)

Maybe some of the Beta / Preset guys might own both and they can chime in.

Thanks Paul. It's a good enough answer for me for now, since you have ST2 yourself and know what you're talking about... Now I only have to find a credit card somewhere... :)

I just bought ManyStation a few days ago, and I agree with Paul's five points above. For what you get -- quantity and quality -- ManyStation is a real bargain right now. It's also a great bargain in terms of CPU usage. I listen to the sounds coming out of this thing and can't believe my CPU meter in Sonar stays so low.

No problem... Used a bit of pseudo-formant modelling to squeeze a bit more out of the samples... And they seem to stretch a loong way :D Thought I'd leave it to Tim and the others to do the ambient soundscape stuff... They definitely know their stuff there, some stunning sounds in there :D
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

duh ... okay you got me ... what is "pseudo formant modelling"???

OTOH whatever it is, it makes these presets very playable. The velo level switch cuts in just at the right level for expression.

V melodic and guitarry feeling.

Basically, I notch filtered out the formants (the characteristic resonant frequencies) of the samples and allowed pitch bend to be applied to the remaining sound. Then I mixed this in with a layer with EQ accentuated formants but no pitch bend. This makes the formants stay still, whilst the rest moves when you pitch bend...

Also I did some Vel->LP filtering to create some mellowness at lower velocities, and I added the slide samples near the top of the velocity range, allowing you to whack the keys to get a nice twang :D

The result is very cool. The dist and chorus guitars almost put a plec in my hand when I play them 8)

If you don't mind, I'll mention your bank in my review of ManyStation at traxmusic

btw your guitars feature on this moody 8xManystation sketch
