amongst many many others:

Supertramp: logical song

Travis: sing

 :-D

whereas I'd glady mow Travis down with a big truck. although I agree that Sing is very catchy.

Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode
Don't Go - Yazoo
Sometimes - Erasure

Pure pop to dance to. Simple melodies, catchy riffs and real foot stompers.
I thought those were all the same song, just with different names :hihi:

Yeah vince made a good pop song and several decent remixes of it :P

Right now I'd say Scissor Sisters are turning out some great pop records...

Yeah! I love that tune! My mates and I used to bash and wail that one out over and over whilst sitting around ye ol' campfire! Good times!

How could I forget???

Mowing down Travis would be about as gratifying as kicking a week-old puppy! You sick bastard! :P

@ S_A_P

:x
:hihi:
:D

To prove that I have differently styled pop songs that I think are near-perfect I would stick in:

Happy Hour - The Housemartins
Crash - The Primitives

Nah, I'd gladly line up all of the 'made for radio faux indie jangly guitar pop wank artists'...Travis, Oarsis, Coldplay, Keane and so on :P

It's not that I don't like some of these sorts of tracks, it's just when you listen to it on a decent hifi set up and not a radio you realise there's no bass and half of it sounds like the band were in a wardrobe with the mics on the outside when they recorded it.

Obviously just my opinion of course...

:hihi: - I know what you mean...

but 'sing' is one of those songs which usually evryone loves, no matter what style he/she usually prefers...
- and that's my definition of a 'perfect pop-single'

here's three more:

Pulp - disco2000

TalkTalk - it's my life

Mia - hungriges Herz

really jens? i like some travis songs but sing is the most trite they've come up with! they're consistent in picking a word and running with it [sing.. sing.. sing- sing sing sing] [turn tu---rn, turn turn turn, turn tu----rn, turn] etc.. me, i like their first album more... U16 girls is a good track, so is funny thing..

but sing?!
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Some of what i consider good songs, may not be all pop, but i'll go ahead anyway...

Eric Clapton - Layla
Billy Idol - White Wedding
Junior Senior - Move your body
B52's - Love Shack
Presidents of the USA - Kitty
Pearl Jam - Betterman
Tenacious D - Wonderboy
AC/DC - Thunderstruck

ooof, seems like i wandered off there a bit, who cares though...

R.E.M. - Shiny happy people
Proclaimers - I would walk walk 500 miles
Radiohead - Creep
Radiohead - High and Dry
Robbie Williams - Man for all seasons
TaTu - All the things she said ( :-o )
Black Eyed Peas - Shut up

I should probably stop now....

Indeed, i will. :hihi:

really!!! - I think you're in a very small minority then - I just love this tune because it's incredibly erm... 'uplifting' :D

i think turn is better :P
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

 - I only know two songs from them ('sing and 'why does it...')- I hate britpop and I'd never buy such crap ;-) :hihi:

Nobody else think 'when I kissed the teacher' is a perfect pop song?
