First of all, thanks a lot for putting the time and effort into providing these freebies.

I realise they're free, but personally:

-I'd prefer them uncompressed, or a little less compressed anyway.
-Judging from the rhythms used, I'm guessing you've made these for dnb use. In that case, it might sound better if you recorded them at 100-120 bpm, like most funk breaks used for dnb, so the timing could be a bit funkier and tighter. Then we could speed them up ourselves to give it a better feel.

Oh, and personally I like the ambience; it's different.

Amazing the net is, amazing love it - the fact I can talk to guys n girls all over the world at any time, download tunes, samples, get news, read, watch flash files, play games - right from here, amazing stuff.

I split the sound section up now - soundfonts in one and wave samples n loops in another, I may add another yet for mappings etc.

I need a mod for these sections too, so if anyone who is open-minded knows loops n samples, or has a keen interest n would like to help out, plus can follow a few guide lines, let me know.

I am pretty sure these sections are going to prove popular looking at the downloads n all the places around the world viewers come from.

The thing is, that I am used to the notion of just trying to make the drums sound good. I realize that people who use loops want them "dry", but "good" and "dry" and "drums" just don't go together in my head. And so I am trying to overcome my own preferences, to provide people with what they want, but its a slow process.

But I should note that what I am trying to do is not to provide beats to be altered and sped up and distorted and so on. I mean if thats what people want to do that's fine, but I am trying to provide realistic sounding drums with live energy and a sense of immediacy. This involves microscopic deviations from "Machine" tempo. I play with a metronome, but that is just to avoid rushing, not to duplicate drum machine time. The fact is that it would be silly to try to compete with a drum machine or a sampler loaded with Storm Drum. My goal is to provide an alternative to this sort of thing. For those who want something more "human".

Thanks for your detailed critique, I really like hearing other points of view. There is so much music, and the more that I learn, the dumber (and the happier ) I feel.

Yes!!!! Recording the drums slower and then speeding up the recordings doesn't give the same energy!

well... by "personal needs" I merely meant whatever learning process you're using that results in these loops that you're providing. and/or the desire to contribute in a way that you feel is helpful to those of us who do use loops for various purposes.

----I didn't hardly use loops at all until recently really,but now I'm finally starting to see/hear the value of incorporating them into nearly finished tracks,or to help get a track moving along if it's not sounding that good by itself.
----I would think that lots of people who have made loops/loop cds don't really care for using them much,or maybe never have. Loops are just a product that music people can make to make some money to avoid a normal day job,or in this case,for him to express himself and share his music with people in a different way than making a finished track,or cd.

But, you know, I should be honest... A long time collaborator of mine and I have been considering the idea of loop c.d. or two. Probably won't be oriented toward electronicists so much as toward instrumentalists...sort of a virtual rhythm section for musicians without a band.

But my main reason for posting this stuff is to feel like I am giving back to this community. I have a shitload of plugins in my folder which were almost all free...and they ROCK, some of them. I can't afford (and mostly don't need) to buy any plugins from most of the developers whose freebies I use. Most of what little spare money I have these days is spent on microphones and whatnot. And so, giving out my own freebies makes me feel less like a slug.
