i have a large record collection and i am beginning to transfer my favourite tracks onto my PC as wav files. I would like to start putting together my own compilation cd's but i would like to know what is the best software for firstly, giving me an accurate BPM count, and then i want to convert the individual files to the same BPM so i can create a mix cd. I can mix on deck's and i suppose i could just get them all to the same BPM and then record them to my computer, but this is time consuming. I tried Tractor and i don't like. Any sugestions???
Thanks
software bpm counter and time stretching

recycle and acid pro are you're best options imho
but you can also use you're sequencer...for instance in cubase you import the wave file...then you open the file up...and it show the hit points and tells you the bpm (this isn't always super accurate imo so i prefer the other 2)
it also depends on your records...if it's a 4x4 beat it's easy to measure...but if it's a breakbeat you'll def have to get involved and mark out a 4 or 8 count and then let the computer do the math
g'luck
cheers
