Ok, so there was a post a while back about finding the Maestro Piano soundfont/Gig file. Well, I mentioned back then that I have it. I do still have it, and many have mentioned to me that they want it. Well, I'm willing to share, and the license that is included with the piano allows me to do so. I am going to contact Matt if possible about sharing it, just so he knows.

So here's the deal. If you are interested in the file, I need you to e-mail me letting me know. my e-mail address is:

brent (at) brentrandallmusic (dot) com

Please tell me the e-mail address you use most often if it's not the one you e-mail me with.

In this email, I need to know if you are willing to help in distributing this file. I do have about three methods of doing so, but I will only have about a week at a time where I can sustain the downloads, due to restrictions in these methods. But if I don't have anyone that can help, I can still do this. But in order for me to do it, I need to know ahead of time.

This is a FANTASTIC sounding piano, with several layers. You will enjoy it.

I also have all the other samples from his site, including the clarinet, a couple drum sets, and more. I may give these out in the future.

NOTE: This is a GIG file, not a soundfont. It was distributed this way, but can be changed in the Awave or VSampler demos into a soundfont. The file in ZIPPED format is almost 400mb, and unzipped is about 1GB.

If you email me, or already have let me know that you want it, I will email you that it is available. Then you will have a week to download it.

I hope this works.

I'm kind of surprised that nobody has responded. The response before was great. I've gotten so many PM's about this. Oh, well, I guess I'll just wait. Someone will probably email me.

By the way, if you have questions about this piano, please ask. I think it's a wonderful sample set.

By the way, I just checked and I have a couple emails. If you have emailed me and I don't respond, it's because I'm currently fixing my email client settings for sending mail. But I did get the emails. And I will respond shortly.

And if anyone has sent me a PM, and not given their email address with it, please do so. I will need this most likely. Thanks.

Spe3d,
I got your email with the information. I will email you back tomorrow night sometime. I need to fix my email account, but I'm changing a few things. Thank you for your help.

And for those of you who still want to email me, you may, and I will directly send you an email with a link to the forum post to download the file when it is ready.

Just sent an email to Audioshots admin to check the bandwidth availability for a 400 Mb zipped file (Maestro Piano).
As soon as I get an answer, I'll share it with you all.

I have an arrangement with KoolKeys, if you are not the owner of these files (not clear in your email – or your post) the answer is No, I will go with KoolKeys.

Spe3d, there's no problem at all. Since I do not own Matt's soundfonts, I sent a PM to Koolkeys to help him share them, and then I sent a mail to Audioshots to check their availability. That's all.
Since it looks you are VERY involved with Audioshots, it's worth taking a moment to thank you for this opportunity.
Great work - thanks you all.

Ok! TPM thanks for clearing that up – I would suggest if you do end up putting it on your server too – be sure of the license (rule no 1) no 2 don’t offer a file of that magnitude as a direct download – it will kill your bandwidth in hours – be sure to have stats that are real-time (people will still try and copy the link as a direct download – if it gets into a big forum, your in trouble unless you can move files freely) that’s just some of it. and the biggest one of all – make sure you are not on shared hosting, they would switch you off (or in this case because of the company (I was with them once when I first got into webbing), let your bandwidth go real high, and unless you have the tools to control it even on a dedicated, you will also have a problem)

Best regards,

Peter

Great, Spe3d. Thanks for your reply.
What do you think about CD distribution?
I can't host so big files, but I could provide some CDs with the zipped files, requesting only CD & shipping expenses.
