Hi All,
wanting a really simple parametric eq- no graphical user interface desired, just numbers. Freq, Q, and db - that's all.
Anything out there? Tried all the freeare ones but nothing exists, so far as I can tell.

If you are a student or academic staff/faculty, you can get a 50% discount on wavearts products. Trackplug has a terrific param eq (along with a quality compressor and gate). It's not not freeware, but relatively cheap ($75) if you qualify...

You on a PC? I can knock out a good Synthedit one when I get home from work if you like.. I'm trying out a new 64-bit EQ module for another project: you can help me beta test it!

Well, that got an enthusiastic response!
Here it is anyway!
Its a simple (and ugly) wrapper for a new module I pursuaded Dave Haupt to make for me, which implements 4 bands of Robert Bristow Johnson EQ in a single module, with 64-bit resolution throughout.
Its also extremely highly optimised, hardly reading on the cpu meters even on my ageing box.. all I ask is that you report any problems, and tell me your impressions of the sound.

Thanks mate! Sounds interesting!
I'll try it out over the weekend and report back next week.
My compliments,
TheCaptain.

[quote="C00kie"]$399,- for a bundle just to use a simple EQ !?
[quote]
Lol! No, but those aren't the only useful plugs in that bundle... But as you say, i wouldn't pay $399 for a simple eq.

Thanks man, that's almost exactly what I'm looking for-platinumears wrote: Its a simple (and ugly) wrapper for a new module I pursuaded Dave Haupt to make for me, which implements 4 bands of Robert Bristow Johnson EQ in a single module, with 64-bit resolution throughout.![]()
I'm not online all the time, so don't be put off if I don't reply immediately-
have some thoughts:
(0) This is a great EQ!
(a) Would like to be able to do .2 Q's, if possible. .1?
(b) if possible would like a version without a UI where I can actually punch in the numbers myself - or with a UI but with a little number box that I can edit manually. 330hz is very different from 340hz, dependant on how good your microphones are.
(c) Would like to be able to move the different 'bands' whereever I want- in terms of hz. I'd like to be able to - as an example - use the lowest one as a peak for a higher frequency, in case I need to do some minor adjustments around the top end and have no need to adjust the bottom.
(d) I'm happy to beta-test with you - very nice, simple eq.
Cheers-

Thanks for the replies everybody - I believe I've found what I'm looking for, but a few thoughts:
1. Pariseq is okay, but non-adjustable to a large degree - the hz jumps too much to be useful. It sounds great but is very biased and not transperant, which is what I'm looking for.
2. Commercial eqs are alright, but why eat cake when you can eat cake for free
Thanx for the links tho-
3. Waves is good but probably a little too cpu-heavy for what I'm doing-
Thanks again!!!

Here ya go!
This one has 4 identical bands, Q goes down to 0.1, click on any parameter to type in a value manually.
If you do use the knobs, you can fine-tune by holding the <CNTRL> key.

I'm really interested, but can't download the 2nd version.
