Anyone own one or tried these? The blurb reads pretty well and it could be a useful learning guitar, but at £475, it may be just an expensive toy.

I vote for the expensive toy. Can you program it to scroll the lyrics on the fretboard also? Reminds me of that KISS guitar with 1000 tiny light bulbs 
I'd advice to never buy a guitar without trying it out, so that rules out any order-by-phone company like OptekMusic. Apart from the leds it may be a well-built guitar, but there's no opportunity to try that out.
