Removing Clicks and Pops

I have a track in my project that has tiny pops/clicks. EQ does not seem to cut it because the sound seems to span pretty broad frequency range (but is very limited in time).
I think the track was bounced from Pentagon I, but I do not want to redo it (the midi track is no longer available).
Is there a free noise elimination program to handle this, or any other suggestions or thoughts?
Thanks.

There's a little program that came with my Terratec DMX6 Fire, and maybe also comes with other Terratec products, don't remember the name, and not too brilliant anyway.
The best tool for that I know is Adobe Audition, but by no means free. Maybe someone near you with AA can clean it for you.

Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

The Cool Edit 96 download at this link was mentioned in KVR a few days ago and I find this very useful for removing noise...just have to download, install then select remove noise and save when asked what functions you wish to use while opening the program...limited to using just two functions at a time but still very useful...
