I have this really annoying situation: I recently did a system restore and I failed to back up a bunch of files

Among these were some final mixes of one of my bands songs.

Now I have an audio c.d. of these songs, but I have been trying to put together a c.d. with segues and intertrack noises and so on (ala Frank Zappa) and want to remove the silence at the end of these tracks to make the transitions cleaner. Trouble is I CAN'T CONVERT THEM BACK TO WAV. FILES!!!!!

Really bloody annoying that. Can anyone recommend something simple that won't put a bunch of extraneous shit on my computer?

You can try Audacity or if the only thing you need is to rip the audio and save as Wav, CDex will do that.
