Logic/Live Rewire?

Hello.

I'm on a Mac using Live 4 and Logic Platinum 6 (with ES1/EXS24), making improvised electronica with a friend using Live as the MIDI sync between the two/three machines. I haven't much experience with Rewire (read: "none"), but wonder the following:

Is it possible for me to, from Live, send a MIDI pattern to a specified channel within Logic (specifically a MIDI instrument channel running the ES1 synth with my presets), or play live for that matter, and have the audio return to an audio track in Live? Given that the way we work is MIDI timeclock-sync'ed in Live, I'd basically only be using Logic for its instruments.. and one in particular, honestly, so if this is not possible from Live --> Logic and back again via Rewire, I just need to know so I'll stop wondering.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, pointers, etc. The KVR folks are always helpful, so I knew exactly where to turn with this question.
