What's the Bonham sample from - "Immigrant Song"?

Post

A little different for you Krim, and not in a bad way. What are the Power Chord and string sounds like in ManyStation? I'll be f**ked if I'll plonk down $80 without hearing a few more of the sounds but so far its very impressive.

Hey Bones
Thanks for comments... It does sound so many different ways.
I don't know ... seems strange you wanting Samples though :-)

But ... there are few hard edge sounds and I hear more wild stuff get tweaked out of it everytime a preset guy sends something over for me to hear. Did you hear the Glooper Track in our forum? ..it shows some of the Grit.

The Power chord set is a Plain Amped Bar chord set, but again, the Tweaking possibilities of the Station have shown a few neat uses of it in the Presets included. Also the lead Distorted set is Single Note screaming type of Lead and Again some strange Presets included. (I know you'll be making your own though.)
The Rest of the Guitars are Nice Clean samples .. Dirty them as you wish.

Strings .... Which you mean ... The Cello?

Anyways Thanks ... It is Nice to see that you like what you hear so far!
But its got a soft side too :-) :-)
More demos on the website also.

Hi Paul, I have already checked the demo's on your site - the cellos sound cool. I would be keen to know how effetively they could be octaved up to make a decent Arco-Strings kind of sound. We use strings quite a bit and I would use guitars a lot more if I had any decent ones. I tried converting my old faithful Ensoniq instrument but Awave did a very poor job and its not overly useful any more. I've looked at a few of the guitar synths and not been impressed so I'm always on the lookout. It was actually the Power Chord patch on the screenshot in the instrument listing here that made me go and check it out in the first place.

Okay, so I'm no Robert Plant!

I like this alot - sounds like old Ultravox IMHO! Drums sound more like Warren what's-his-name, and the music is nice and melodic as well. :hihi:

Very cool! 8)

Heh
Cool... I think with a guy like you who knows about programming Synths then you will enjoy the tweakability ... but you realize ...... it has Marimba and Log Drums Too...

Would that not be Like Gene Simmons doing Disco? ....

Wait a Minute ... he did.. :D 8) :D

Heh... There is some cool possibilities of Blending the Cellos with the Vintage stuff ... So I would think you might like that, but then again ... you are a fussy old Fart too.
:P

Uhmmm ... :-) also we will have some new Orch String SampleSets instruments etc. as addons and you can add your own sets too.

As for the rest of the Guitars ... well the Strat set has been loved by all the Beta and Preset guys. I made the best sets clean for reasons that you can add your own amp sims and FX etc.

As For the Presets ... They are Cool ... alot do use the onboard FX ... which i know you are not keen on ;-) but they are Fantastic for, just out the box Examples of what ManyStation can do. there may be stuff that you won't dig ... Like the pads and Basic Synth stuff etc etc ... But for a guy as experienced in synths as yourself ... you will know how you want to tweak.

Also it is meant to be played if you can - with a keyboard ... some of Tims Presets show this on the guitars ... in particular - Use of the Modwheel to get realistic pitch shifting variations like that of real players. Man if we could all program like Tim..hehe.
Cheers and Thanks again

The 'real world' sounds are what make this stand out for me. The Cello is superb, its from claire Fitch, so its a given, and they can sound really gritty or smooth as silk if you mess with them. The guitars are really good too. I prefer a really good clean sample that i can distort myself, and Manystattion has some very nice ones.

I know you use string and some dist guitars in your tracks. I think you might like this for that. I can do some demos for ya if you want? Actually, i have an idea, i'll get back to ya

There was a load of Bonham outakes up on the web a while back, i grabbed em, chopped some up into usable loops and spliced together for this. Timing is awfull on sone of them, but thats live drummers for ya :hihi:

Cool and atmospheric, its got the Zeppelin spirit I believe. The samples do indeed sound very nice.

As a smartypants I would be remiss in not asking you to check the spelling of the great drummer's name
