The pages look like they are in Landscape mode, is this right? Should i print them in Landscape or Portrait? :?

I would prefer portrait, can it be changed?

I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for your kind words about "How to make a noise". I am very appreciative of the things people have said on the forums and in their emails to me. I am even more appreciative of those who have bought the patches.

Kriminal, you asked about portrait and landscape printing. The book has been set out in landscape and should be printed in landscape. With a portrait layout the lines got too long and it become hard to read. If you are going to print the book, then I recommend you get hold of the higher resolution version and print to a colour printer. If you have any problems with printing, just drop me an email - I'm sure we can sort something out.

I would like to encourage everyone to do two things:
  • First, buy the patches. This book is free and will remain free, however I do need money to buy food etc as well as offset the costs of running the site. You can get hold of the patches by following this link: http://payloadz.com/go/sip?id=98585
  • Second, pass on the word. As you might expect, for a free book there is zero marketing budget and I am reliant on the goodwill of the readership to spread the word around. Please tell your friends and post wherever you feel appropriate on the net.
I am also interested to hear what sort of material people want in the refills or whether people perceive there is a need for other material (for instance, more resources for newbies). I make no promises, but if you let me know what you want there is more chance that it will be included.

Again, my thanks for your kind words. I hope you all enjoy "How to make a noise".

I'm sorry but I haven't received your email. If you (and anyone else who has download problems) drop me an email at urgent[at]noisesculpture[dot]com (replace [at] and [dot]) I'll get the link over: just let me know your name and your email address.

The low resolution (free) download is 2.25MB. The high resolution version (with the patches) is 6.47MB.

I reviewed the free version, and purchased the book.

I was at first concerned because I'd never heard of payloadz.com, but when you explained on your purchase page that it was secure delivery working with paypal, and looked at their site, it made sense :)

Simon, it seems as my main e-mail is acting up and not sending properly, although the mail client says it is. So it is an issue on my side, not yours, i think.

So, i used my Gmail adress and all worked out fine. I have the book now and started reading and i am very happy. Thanks so much.

Thanks a lot Simon! :hyper: I've downloaded the file but could not transfer it to my Palm. The Adobe Reader for Palm OS gave an error msg "Error converting to tagged PDF: Knowledge source failed. <Retrieve Paragragh Data>" while converting the file. Any idea if this can be fixed?

BTW, anyone who do not receive the download link after submission, try looking in your spam folder. I've waited for a whole hour for the download link and then realised that the e-mail had been thrown into the hotmail spam folder for no reason.

I just got an email from Simon through my main adress so it seems it was some small technical problems he has resolved now.

Thanks Simon.

I think a lot of people are doing this. Indeed, I would prefer that people download the freebie first - that way they know what they're getting and understand the significance of the patches. There are over 200 patches: trying to explain what each of them does takes about 80,000 words.

From my perspective it is important that anyone who pays me money can have the product immediately. I don't want anyone to have to wait for their download. Payloadz allows me to do this. This is the first time I have used Payloadz and so far I have been very pleased with the service.

I can do a PDF version without graphics and with suitable marking which should be readable in a PDA: this is available free of charge to anyone who has purchased the patches. If you want to check that your PDA can read the output, send me an email and I will email some sample pages.
