I hear some good things about the implemented phase tool...what's your take on that?

defjamm, interesting comments on the Hydratone... I have not tried it myself - I will test it when it is released.

the developers know you(your name gets mentioned a lot on internetforums nowadays, not without reason, great tools). i'm sure they will give you the pc-beta-version if you ask them, then you can try it yourself and see if you like it, or if it's worth to code/release a similar eq-approach. i really don't care about the brand or technical background of an eq, just the sound.

I'm doing my own research on the EQs, and so I have to ask you: could you describe the sound of Hydratone as consistent? Does it sound equally 'glueing' on all Freq/Gain/Q settings, or are there any 'blind spots' where it sounds like a normal digital EQ? I assume you were testing without any Fire functions enabled.

all without fire and phase, just the eq. i didn't find any blind-spots so far, but it takes months to really know an eq, so who knows. it would be great to have more products with 'this' sound, maybe a voxengo-one with a lighter cpu due to optimizations-:). your coding-skills put together with someone who has access to fine analog-hardware, that yould be killer.

take a hihat, place it on 3 tracks, one with hydratone on, one with gliss2 at dyn0 and one with harmoniEQ. boost(bell) at 14k with 9db with a q of 1(try to match all eqs) and match the loudness of all tracks to be equal. NOW compare. if you don't hear a big difference you should stop using eqs. the gliss and harmoniEQ sound plain digital, with digital harshness all over the place. the hydratone sounds a lot better.

Even though I haven't heard Hydratone yet, I totally agree with defjamm on the sound of the other digital eqs mentioned, as well as the many other digital eqs I've tried NOT INCLUDING the Weiss eq: That's in a different ballpark.

I'm anxious to hear Hydratone but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
