Thank you guys.
I am making some changes to the server - coz to me it seems real slow atm. so I will bump this thread a bit later to let you know the file is back up.
Best regards,
Peter

are any mac-users successful with MacRar?
I get a "mcgreadme.txt -fileheader broken" error..
from what I know MacRar is the only way to go in OS9, right?
(..or is there an alternative app to open .rar files?)

Ok, so the origianl plan was to email the link to the file. But Spe3d and I have decided that to take the load off his server, to use registered users only. It's easy, not much time at all.
Also, the soundfont file that was mentioned earlier in this thread is NOT THE SAME PIANO. It is a smaller piano, but still a nice one.
Plus, this piano is in GIGA format. That is the format that Matt released it as. The rest of his sounds were in soundfont format, but this one file is a GIGA file. If you want to convert it, then get the Awave demo or the VSampler demo and open the file and save it as a soundfont. Vsampler should do better at this, since the demo has no restrictions for 30 days. But this is how Matt himself distributed the file.
Also, I do have the rest of the files from his site. I have the clarinet(possibly the best clarinet I've ever heard), a couple drum kits, the other piano(you can get this at sf2midi.com) and then some incidental sounds for the drums, plus a few other fonts Matt made available. All of these are fantastic sounds. I will email Matt once more about these and sometime(hopefully soon) be able to give these out. But I'm not sure on the method yet.
I hope ya'll enjoy the piano. I've loved using it, and you will too. It is truly a fantastic sound. Make sure to drop Matt an email thanking him for his sounds. Also, especially thank you to Spe3d for the Auditorium and the opportunity to share things like this. This is a big load for any server, and I appreciate him offering to do this.
Enjoy!

Moritz, the latest version of Stuffit supports RAR files too.
Not 100% sure but I'd think it should be working under OS9 as well.

Howdy. Current version of WinRAR (3.4.2) gives the same error. (Damn, I love my connection; took me all of 30 seconds to find, download, and install the damn app, and five more to get it to repeat the error...)

Is this all happening with MAC stuff - or should I upload a zip file - it will be much bigger in zipJafo wrote:Howdy. Current version of WinRAR (3.4.2) gives the same error. Also has anyone managed to unrar
Download managers with threads can casue issues with rar files unraring - might be better to download as a single thread
though not yet as I would like to know if I should upload a zip file?
Best regards,
Peter

I'm going to give the rar download another try; I believe it's just a matter of something going wrong in the transfer, rather than the compression method. I'm downloading sans manager, btw -- just good 'ole Firebird.
Again, thanks for the effort involved in setting this up.
