Here is what I am doing now.

I am at the moment uploading a self extracting rar archive that was made with the latest version of WinRar 3.42 – it extracts on my pc just by double clicking the icon. Technically it should work on almost all pc’s (bar macs probably) the file size is 390MB

After this is uploaded I am going to have another file on the server for mac users – this will be a .sit file and its file size is 495MB

That should solve the problems for both mac and possible win users.

I will let you know when the new archive is uploaded. The first being the self extractor (uploading atm) :D

Best regards,

Peter

Stuffit will also expand self extracting archives (maybe MacRar as well?).

Hello,

Sorry I must be very dumb tonight. I have registered, got the registration confirmation e-mail, clicked on the link and finalised registration, then went to the Auditorium after login and did not see the very large file section in the Sounds section....

Can someone help ?

Cheers,

After that you need to register at the Auditorium.

BTW just also confirming the 'broken' thing on OSX with UnrarX version 2.0

I'm currently re-rarring the file, this time with a bit higher compression, so it's taking longer to compress. But it should help with the overall bandwidth, if not only a little bit. After it finishes, I will upload the new file tonight. I'll let Spe3d know and he or I will let ya'll know it's done! Thanks for your patience!

Ok! The self extracting Rar file is now listed. Going to upload the .sit plus when Koolkeys upload completes I will link that .rar too

My upload didn't complete. I finally got fed up with my wireless network card, as it kept freezing my system. I've had my laptop with me all night so I couldn't use that. So tomorrow when I'm home I'll have to do it on my laptop. Maybe I'll do that while I get a new wireless adapter. I'm so pissed right now.

Why would you even need to upload the file again? The selfextracting RAR is all there and should be sufficient for anybody, no?

It's not got a virus - the exe is the self expander

it's an exe file - Norton don't spot it on my PC as a virus.

Hey Krim - could you not read what I have written in the forum about this at the auditorium?

Best regards,

Spe3d

:O)

Not yet, i just grabbed the file while browsing, i'll have a look now.

i've downloaded this twice now - the second file is constantly detected by AVG as a virus - plus when you do try to self extract it an error message is displayed ??

any suggestions ? :(

Rename the file to mcgv2.exe; that's all
