Btw, I haven't been all that sucessful with knockout myself (didn't try all that hard either), but listen to the 2 demo MP3s on that site... if this is not faked somehow, it should work marvelleously on some material.

no, it's not faked, honest injun, but as you very correctly mention, it depends a lot on the material. kn0ck0ut isn't a 'vocal extractor'...it can just do some audio manipulation that sometimes helps: centre extraction, total cutout of low and/or hi frequencies, and one trick that (currently) no other plugin does, quick and easy spectral subtraction of one track from another. it's still got some way to go though...look out for an update with (still v basic) GUI, less CPU load, 48K samplerate support & more filter options in a couple weeks time.

uhm, if you take a part of the tracks that has only the music, phase reverse it (or whatever it's called) and the add that on top of a piece with vocals, the music should be muted..1+(-1)=0

or?
