Anyone know of a floor based guitar effects pedal that you can use VST or other software based effects on? I found this company Mode Soundworks http://www.modesoundworks.com (http://www.modesoundworks.com) that allows user created effects on their pedal, no VST though. Anyone know any others? What do people think of the Mode pedal?-

A Receptor with any kind of midi controler will do the job.

The receptor with a midi controller is a good idea. I guess the trade off is the Mode pedal has all the functionality in one unit and is cheaper but doesn't have VST compatibility.

Check out Bidule by Plogue. It has a "MIDI CC to Params" feature so you can assign any MIDI controller message to any VST control. I use it very frequently to assign the buttons and footpedals of a Yamaha MFC-10 Foot controller. I also have all the knobs and buttons assinged on an M-Audio Keystation Pro-88...you just have to wiggle the knob to assign it. it's a very useful program.
