I don't know about everyone else, but this puts a huge smile on my face! :D

As a host, only Cubase rank higher. To see FLS as the #2 host is a success story in itself.

What does this really say about the future of sequencers or soft studios in general?

EDIT: Live did good too as the #2 overall commercial product.8) But I was dead surprise that Tracktion didn't rank as well as I thought it should. :o

I just want to know who voted for Cubarse?

I hope you're just kidding with a statement like that... :?

cubase sucks, steinberg sucks, dongles suck.
Nope, no kidding..... :x

I think a problem with tracktion ranking low was that so many have waited for so long for the update that it has lost (albeit temporary) some support.

Oh, just to recap.........CUBASE SUCKS! :tantrum:

i'm also quite surprised to see Cubase on pole position... bah! who cares? as long as their users are happy...

Wopelkas right, I guess if the users are happy...

I agree with Wopelka also:

I've been using Tracktion for the last year and a half and been pleased with somethings and not so much with others. I previously used Sonar2. Anyway, most of the producers I work with use Cubase to sequence with. Actually they use it to track audio from their MPC-2000s. Since I work with them I've had to learn my way around Cubase. It's not my favorite but it's okay. Tracktion is great for getting up and going quickly when I have an idea. I liked alot of the more advanced features of Cubase. I recently switched to Samplitude 8. It has alot of shit on the screen and sub menus just like Cubase so it's taking me some time to get used to it. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is from a guy who has tried quite a few sequencers.... They all appeal to me in different ways. At the end of the day it's what let's you get the tracks done so you can get paid!!!

Me, for one. I'm perfectly happy with it. I only make jaath, after all ;)

Of course, there's plenty of room for improvement, but it doesn't stop me cranking out the noodles :D

Congrats to Imageline on their success too... I was quite surprised to see FLS win the award with all the flak it gets. I never got on with it, and it lacks some features I like, but I can see it has some strengths over the competition. Maybe negative press is a side effect of popularity :hihi:
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Since people won't really vote for the sequencer they don't use (in most cases, with rare exceptions) it makes sense that the best-selling sequencer would get the most votes, no?

Doesn't mean it's a good product, just that more people own it and/or pirated it. :D Also, even though it's not my preference, it IS still a good program for many.

Cubase bites. Sonar rules.

I think all of these music production programs are good, people say Reason sucks a lot but I used a few times and it's a pretty good program when you use it often.

Cubase looks like an awesome program, it looks just like Sonar...I would use both programs, both programs probably offer different options and tools that the other program doesn't. Plus, if you become well versed with multiple programs, it can only benefit you with digital music technology.
