I've been wondering that too...S_A_P wrote:got anything new on the drawing board?

Nothing much past the stage of the drawing board, I'm afraid. I had a vector synth in the works, but I've dropped it since there's this vector sector.

Why not. But don't be disappointed if I don't go for an additive synth. Or a FM synth. Or a VA synth.

A drum machine sounds interesting, but there strikes as being another synth type missing from VST-land.
Other than Tassman, there is no physical modelling Sculpture-killer. A well-designed, semimodular, non-sample based, modal (with a full complement of modelled components for strings (bowed and plucked), winds (reeds, flutes and brass), and percussion (drum membranes, wood, pitched (vibes, marimbas), etc) PM, and PM only, synth designed to do both pseudo-realistic models and abstractions based on modelled behaviour, with modulation and parameter articulation up the wazoo. Given the elegance of Rhino, I think you would be a perfect choice to make this.

what happened to the concept of breaking off and enhancing the fx portion of rhino into a separate fx package?
maybe add a few more fx (like gating)
-- at least some of the work is done already
-- Big Tick fx's are world class and (i think) routinely underappreciated
-- useful in so many ways for synths with weak fx sections
-- ready made loyalist community sales
etc, etc, etc,

I vote for a mega enhancement to Angelina. I think there is so much more that could be done with her!

Nothing is wrong but there can always be nice things added; audio input LFOs, timestretch samples, easy wave loading, arpeggiator, mod matrix, interface enhancements, drum mode, etc..etc..mikusan wrote:Rhino III???kodama wrote:How about an FM drum machine brother to Rhino?

what's wrong with Rhino2? Personally, I'm still on the learner curve...
Well, we can suggestmany things (and I will

There is an opening in the market for a sample based physical modeling synth/sampler. EVen a purely abstract one just for the sake of synthesis and not imitation.
Or physical modeling modular effects unit so these things can be added to any audio or synths.
