I'm trying to find out suitable DJ's who we can send the Resonance - Musicians For Asia CD to. So I thought I'd start a thread to collect your favorite radio DJ's.

If you could post the DJ's name.. and if you can find it out... their e-mail address / contact details / web address etc.... ( please put e-mail addresses like ben[at]glooped[dot]com )

cheers
Ben

I hate the radio...never listen to the damn thing. Now I do listen to music choice quite often from our digital cable. It's the dj's that keep me away from radio, that and damn commercials...

I'm, afraid I agree with Hink on this.

Nonetheless, check out radio locator

It really is useful as all hell.

Hink, what are you talking about?.. Are you saying we shouldn't get in contact with DJ's to advertise this CD because you don't like them?

indie 103.1 would be the radio station for Los Angeles, there also on the internet. They have steve jones of the sex pistols and dicky barret as DJ's and I think they have a fairly big following on the net. I'm sure they would be happy to do it, since they can do things like that. Also the Crstal Method have a DJ spot on sundays.

I remember catching this last summer while I was out in LA. I'd second this as a possible addition to your list, Ben.

Excellant people..:)

I e-mailed a few last night though none of the ones mentioned above :D. I also found the mail address for a lot of the 6 Music and Radio 3 DJ's so am sending CD's to Stuart Maconie, Tom Robinsons, Craig Charles, and Late Junction (Radio 3) at lunchtime today.

I'll get a few more e-mails of tonight.
Keep them coming.

why send to the announcers?

wouldn't it be better to send to the music director at the station ?

Post

nope.. in the BBC the producers of each show are in charge of what goes on their show. It's not like a lot of commercial radio where they are told what to play.. instead each DJ will specialise in a certain music and play his or her's favorite music. THe FAQ on 6 music tell's you to send CD's to the particular producer of the show you want to be played on.
