i just installed the Sonar 4 demo, never used Sonar before and the only thing i cant figure out is how to set up sends properly. All i want to do is have, say a Drum track and a Synth track both being sent to a bus with a Reverb. I can get that far. But how to i change the send levels for each instrument? I dont see any send levels. :?

when i insert a VST synth it makes 1 track for midi and however many for the audio outputs. I would´ve expected to see send levels on the audio tracks.

Am i missing something :?:

Just use the Aux Busses. There should be two per track already set up by default. Put the reverb in the busses effect bin through the console, then go to the tracks you want to route to that bus, right click them, route them to Aux 1 (for example) and now the send levels will appear.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Right-click tov insert effect send or to create a new buss depending on your configuration. When inserted the send fader will then show up - it in the fader panel on the left of the track view you must activate by clicking the activate button to green for on. If you are in console view there will be a dial next to a button lit green if actively sending to the selected buss.

I hope this helps!

1. Open the mixing console. The right side should have your aux busses. If not, try dragging the right edge to reveal them.

2. Right click, insert stereo bus. Add whatever send effects you want.

3. Right-click an audio track that you want to send to the buss, go to "insert send," and choose the proper bus.

Alternatively, if you just want to put one processor on several tracks, on the track output, select the bus you want.

Thanks very much for the quick replies. and in particular to 3*s... without step by step instuctions i´m useless. I worked out what I was doing wrong, once i´d created the bus and added an effect I was just changing the Output of the audio track to point to the bus... I didn´t realise you actually had to right click and Insert Send... the help files are useless.

Thanks again! :D
