Just tried the demo. Pretty freaking amazing so far. Very human sounding and the way it follows your playing dynamics is pretty much exactly like a real drummer would. Also adds realistic fills, accents and cymbal hits as well as switching from HH to ride automatically.
Has the most annoying audible demo reminder ever, though (so much so that it occasionally says "my voice is getting worn out").

Can you tell me in a general way how it works, such as how it "reads" incoming audio information (is there a procedure for this)? I guess I don't get it. Can you lay down some tracks and then feed it into jamstix and then it will produce drum tracks? Can you feed it midi information too? Could this be used in orion or is it only useful in a multi-track program such as nuendo?

I have no idea how this works, but it's pretty cool. I've been using it in FL5 and just adding it to various songs to see what it does. A lot more interesting than my drum loops, that's for sure. I need to play some more to see how controllable and nuanced I can get things, but chances are I'm buying it, and this might push me over the edge to get a decent drum vst as well- but that opens up another pandora's box... BFD, DFH, Battery, etc, etc...
Yes, the demo reminder is perhaps the most annoying in history, and nearly makes a decent review of what's happening impossible. Getting rid of that may be worth the price alone.

I haven't even tried it with any of my existing songs (since I typically make dance music, and it has almost no dance setting). I just jammed along on my keyboard or midi guitar -- and it followed my playing. Haven't been able to get the audio jam to work yet (don't see a config setting to set an audio in port).
Still, as it sits right now, it seems to be waaay beyone bfd and groove agent. And it's only $99! If you wanted to be really cheap you could just get this and use it with free soundfonts (of which there are plenty of good ones).

We will reduce the frequency of the audio reminders in an update within the next few days. It won't be as nice as having none of them but it should hold you over until March 25...davidlinn wrote: Yes, the demo reminder is perhaps the most annoying in history, and nearly makes a decent review of what's happening impossible. Some hosts allow you to route audio to a VST instrument. With Jamstix you also get the audioM8 plugin, which you can drop in an audio track that either has your audio source connected to it or has pre-recorded audio. audioM8 will analyze it and send the result to any open Jamstix instance in your host. Jamstix will then adjust its velocity to the audio signal and apply various rules, such as sidestick instead of snare head when you play quiet and ride or semi hats instead of closed hats when you play loud.Satasha wrote:Can you tell me in a general way how it works, such as how it "reads" incoming audio information (is there a procedure for this)?
You can also switch it to MIDI jam, which is even better because Jamstix recognizes your chords and switches rhythms in sync with you (in audio mode it switches every two bars to keep things varied) and it also does little things like following staccatos and extra hits.
The jam itself can be based on preset rhythms from a library using keywords or it can be a "free jam", in which Jamstix makes up new rhythms on-the-fly within the constraints of a few parameters that you control.
Finally, you can use Jamstix without any jamming and assemble drum tracks with its built-in arranger that stays in sync with the host. You can use up to 16 rhythms and place intros, endings and fills where you like. And then there's MIDI automation....etc.
We have successfully tested Jamstix in Orion Platinum.
If there's anything else I'm here to assist and you can also find lots of info at the rayzoon forums

We have just released an update that makes audio-jamming possible in hosts that cannot route audio to a VST instrument. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, it works with a new VST effect plugin called audioM8, which can be used in any audio track and sends the necessary information to any open Jamstix. The updated manual has specific instructions for Cubase SX, Sonar and Tracktion.SecondSkin wrote:Haven't been able to get the audio jam to work yet (don't see a config setting to set an audio in port).
By the way, thanks for the kind words!

Up and running great in Sonar 4
I have a feeling that I'll use this by letting it generate a heap of stuff, then export to midi, import back in, and chop out the bars I like.
Definitely high up on my purchase list for this year!

Checked it out last night. Very interesting.
However, when I ran DR-008 through it the CPU was over 65%! Yikes! I am using a P3 2.2 with 1 gig RAM.
Anyone seeing this kind of CPU usage?

Battery and Stormdrums, I have to shut down sonar because it becomes unresponsive.
