Ableton live 4.01 crashes!

I set the VST plugin directory to C:\ by accident and now anytime it starts up it crashes becauses it starts searchig for plugins *.dll's in c:\ and there about 10000 dlls! is there any way i can make it bypass searchig for vsts at the start up?

i also tried reinstalling it but it seems to remember the settings of searching for the vsts in c:\
