I have both and used both with Jamstix and Sonar but I will test this again. Will let you know what I find...

Poni,
Jamstix has problems when a drum module you load into it has more outputs than Jamstix has.

Please open Jamstix, go to the MAPPING tab, raise the number of outputs in the SOUNDS panel to 16 and then close and restart Jamstix.

Does this fix the crashing for you?

Zauni do I need to have all 16 channels to run an 8 channel drum module. Don't like the clutter.

No, you only need whatever your module has. I said 16 because I wanted to be safe

Let me know if it helped.

Hm, I am really interested in this too. But I have to second the remark about the most annoying demo limitation I've come across so far. Not only does it happen every few seconds it's also bloody loud :x

When I tried to insert Jamstix directly into a fx-bin in Sonar 4 I had an immediate (reproducable) crash. When inserted via the synth rack it works though I didn't get the audio input to work this way. So I used the audiom8 fx to route my guitar to jamstix (I am propably missing sth. here). DFHS seems to work fine with it, however after trying it for some minutes I was so annoyed by the voice (louder than the actual drumming) that I had to stop.

So please, if you do update the demo, make the voice a bit less loud. I'll give it another try then

Duly noted, Niko :)

The thing is that we have to play the reminders on all outputs. That adds up quick in volume.

Just mute the outputs you are not using (may want to set DFHS to 'stereo mixdown' for now) and it will be a lot less intrusive

Why not just have the sound cut out for a few seconds every minute or something less intrusive like that? Other companies have demos that dont annoy you with loud talking all the time. I'd rather have silence than some voice blasting out the speakers. Think about it! Your product seems like a fantastic idea however it is pretty clear people are frustrated your choice of demo limitation.

You guys should really do something about the annoying demo limitation before you piss of all your potential custumers.

It does get annoying, doesn't it? But I'll have to admit, it's the most fun I've had cursing a lady in a long time!

After a day at work. I needed to yell at somebody.

Thanks for supplying the venting material :D

The product does seem interesting, but I can't hear it over my swearing!

Just tested with Waldorf Attack and can confirm it works fine :)

I do have some feedback and suggestions;

1. Give us the facility to solo each drum type (kick, snare, etc). That way it would be easier for me to figure out which preset I need to adjust in my drum module for each type of sound. As it stands it's almost impossible to figure out which Attack sound is which unless I literally turn off the pattern for all other drums. And sometimes it really does help to hear each drum in isolation when tweaking a pattern.

2. Taking the above idea one step further - what about a panel that allows you to mute or solo each drum type (including one for each tom)? If you then expose those parameters to automation, you've got a great quick way to insert a breakdown.

3. The "switches" that select internal/external vst and jam with midi/audio are *really* hard to understand visually. The white/grey switch really doesn't immediately tell you which function is selected, because it's not apparent which is the "on" end if you know what I mean. It really needs to be changed to something more visually obvious.

We're going to have an update very soon with a modified audio reminder. Due to the problems with audio summation across multiple outputs we will just use silent dropouts instead of the voice.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

It's in the pipe.

Personally, those switches make sense to me visually but we'll see what we can do.

Thanks for the suggestions!

See, this company rocks!

If you're bitching too loudly about the audio reminder, you need to check out the Jamstix forum and see how great these guys are. They take care of things and are so nice about it, some people here deserve less!

Don't turn these dev's evil!!! :x
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

How can they deserve less when they're using a demo they're considering purchasing?
