Does The URS really nail the API550B?

I know the API 550B intimately, so I am also quite curious.
There have been a few posts to this effect on the cubase forum as well, but so far no response.
There is no way in hell I will buy and i-lock dongle just to demo software I may not buy.

From what I have heard, it comes really close to the 550B. The Neve 1081 is supposedly very close too. Some people have said that the sound is very similar but the plugin versions don't have the added drive or harmonics the hardware can give at extreme settings.
I won't buy an iLok either just to demo the URS stuff. At least from what I have heard, the CPU use is ridiculously low, enough to use over 50 of the EQs in a project without a hitch.

I was talking the API rep at NAMM and he said it was surprisingly good. He also said he thought SSL was going to litigate them out of existence.
I agree that ILOK sucks, and wish they would support the same dongle that Cubase uses.
