Has anyone had any communication with Spin Audio lately? I've sent three emails recently to their support address, both via regular email and via an online form on their website. I haven't received anything in return. No one seems to be answering posts in their forum, either.

I'm a registered user of Roomverb M2 2.0 -- I had to do a fresh install awhile ago and I'm now having product authorization issues. The plugin is useless to me now... this is so frustrating.

Are you sure you have found the same version you installed previously, I had the same problem once and an update fixed this, so maybe have you got this update somewhere, Wait did this happen in Cubase ? then try this, Authorize in another host, and then you should be able to use it, I think That was what I was told to do, cant remember exactly. But Try it. :)

I have here what spinaudio wrote to me when I had That Problem
Spin Audio wrote:
0) Make sure every time you log in into Windows you log in as a
system administrator so that you have all the privelages to install
the software

1) Uninstall the current version of roomverb m2. Go to the folder
where it was installed (it should be something like
rn> C:\Program Files\SpinAudio\RoomVerb M2) and check if there are any files left
in it. remove them

2) Reboot your computer

3) Unpack RVM2PC21.zip (I guess you've downloaded already the latest
144 build) into any temp folder. (not into your VST
folder!) with subdirectories, so there are subfolders /Package/,
/SetupData

4) run setup.exe from the temp folder

5) If you dont need DX version deselect it when setup will ask you to
choose which versions to install

6) the installer will first ask you for a folder to which it should
install the product data. it's recommended that you leave the default
choice except maybe for changing driver lettr. Do not select you VST
plug-ins folder for this directory! Remember this product directory location.

7) then the setup will ask you for your VST plug-ins folder

8) after the installation reboot your computer again

9) after the reboot, try to authorize the plug-in in Tracktion demo

10) if it does, run cubase and make it to rescan your vst plug-ins
folder, then try to load the plug-in in cubase
:)

I've tried all of that. I'm using Cubase SX 2 and build 154 of Roomverb, but I've tried a couple of other hosts, including Spin Audio's ASIO FX Processor ME. My problem is that the system id field is completely blank. I'm sure there's supposed to be something in there. Entering the serial number does absolutely nothing.

Post

My only guess then would be to download a demo of Traction, and try with that, I know that was how I succeeded with the authorisation, and I do have an id in the Id field.

Try reading what Spin audio wrote and do exactly what they say, I actually had to try severally times before I found the right way too.

I just reinstalled now when I noticed there was a new build out. Worked like a charm.

Great, Another problem out of the way, so making music can go on. Good luck, in the future.

Uh, Smart, are you also bipolarbear? If so, glad you got the problem sorted (and bipolarbear is an appropriate nickname! ).

But the lack of response from SpinAudio is rather troubling. Let's hope it was just a temporary communication glitch  .

I just tried authorizing the plugin with Tracktion, same result. The system id field simply isn't being filled in (doesn't matter which host I use) so entering a serial code is useless. I've tried everything -- first, this was installed on a fresh install of XP. Then I uninstalled Roomverb, deleted any left over folders and files, cleaned out the registry, and tried again (and again).

I've sent another email to Spin Audio, this time to their "info" address. I have a bad feeling about this -- I've sent them email in the past and received a very quick response.

Post

It took me a while to hear from them - I couldn't figure out the authorization either - it was my fault as there were directions...at any rate, it took several days.

Post

Well, I figured out the problem. I have an email from Spin Audio from a little over a year ago when I upgraded from version 1 to 2. My serial code is listed in that email -- except it isn't correct. Roomverb expects a serial code in the format of four 5-digit codes followed by a 4-digit code. Well, the serial I was sent is in the format of four 4-digit codes followed by a single digit code (which is the format for ASIO FX Processor ME, which I also own).

I have no idea how this worked on my previous installation -- perhaps because I already had version 1 installed and it picked up the authorization from that? I really can't remember. In any case, right now I'm authorized using a code I found on the net. I'm hoping to hear back from Spin Audio so I can get a proper code. This experience aside, I really like this company and their products so I hope they are still around.

Thanks to everyone that offered their help, it was appreciated.

Thanks Dan, I really appreciate it! I think the problem is that I changed my email address several months ago -- I though I had notified you guys, but evidently not.
