Hi, I'm sure I'm doing something very silly. I am converting Hollow Sun Akai 5/6k sample to Kontakt format using the full version of CDXtract. But I'm finding my samples are now silent. Strangely even the wavs if I try to play them are silent. I used the demo version to convert these sample ok before, what an earth have I done?

Dunno. I've never had a single problem with CDXtract. Have you tried emailing their tech support?

If you open the wav file in an audio editor, is it empty?

As far as I know, the only change that CDXtract would make to an audio file is converting it from wav to aiff and vise versa. Or extracting it from a single-file format, like SF2 or Giga, into wav or aiff.

Yes, it's weird. I tried playing the wav in media player, sound before conversion, nothing after. Just checked again by converting some EXS24 files..no problem with them. Think I will need to try their tech support..as you say, my experience has been that this has worked well for me,the demo worked fine on Akai 5/6K files and the full version has converted my EXS24 files fine.

Good luck! I've never had a problem with te OS X version of CDXtract (The OS 9 version crashed a few times, but....) so I'm sure they'll sort you out in no time.

Actually, think I'm sorted. It doesn't like reusing folders, tell it to start converting, create a new folder for the conversion and it works. Thanks!
