We'd really appreciate any feedback on the sounds.

Well, it has some character to it, and I kind of like it, nice for a freebie anyway, but it has so much background noise
, that it makes it almost unusable.
I mean, if I record 4 tracks of heavy distorted guitar tracks in mix, and use Tubester on all of them, I can't imagine how noisy it would become. You should fix that first, really.

Alas, it's not us. What you are hearing is the noise from your input device. What are you using to connect guitar to computer ?

Here at home, I am using POD as a sort of direct box, I just turn box simulation off and use neutral EQ settings, and lower output so I have signal very similar to using usual DI box/mic preamp setup. I can eventually try it again later in studio with mic preamps and usual DI box, but I am 99,99% sure that it would be noisy too. It has background noise even at low gain settings, and I have Joe Burden pickups on guitar I have used, and they are very clean, and there is no noise with other amp simulators.
As I recall, Tubester 1 was really noisy too.

yes, this tubester is very noisy, this noise comes from presence and distortion, when the distortion is turn off and presence set on -20db there is much less noise...
btw..pretty nice amp sim...

Couldn't compare to T1 with same settings cos the scale is diferent, but to my ears is less muddy and hoter, also cpu is 0.5% less than T1, since the scale is larger seems more controlable, and is keeping the same fine tube character.
In the site you said T1 was modeled from a Mullard tube and T2 fron a RCA,or The Mullard is the rectifier and RCA are the preamp tubes?
Good job anyways

This is very helpful thanks - we'll have a look at the levelsVervil wrote:Here at home, I am using POD as a sort of direct box, I just turn box simulation off and use neutral EQ settings, and lower output so I have signal very similar to using usual DI box/mic preamp setup. Hi and thanks. Yes, we listened to the comments about T1 and made some changes. The distortion level is logarithmic, there is some low pass filtering at the start to help with the bass muddiness people reported with T1 and the 4th virtual tube adds some real sting. There is no rectifier/poweramp stage in T1 or T2 - we've got preamp (all RCA in T2's case) into cab sim. Power amp modelling is on the todo list.RAYA wrote:Couldn't compare to T1 with same settings cos the scale is diferent, but to my ears is less muddy and hoter, also cpu is 0.5% less than T1, since the scale is larger seems more controlable, and is keeping the same fine tube character.

I can make a short audio clip, Dry sound, Tubester 2, and some other guitar simulator, if it helps.Polarity Support wrote:This is very helpful thanks - we'll have a look at the levelsVervil wrote:Here at home, I am using POD as a sort of direct box, I just turn box simulation off and use neutral EQ settings, and lower output so I have signal very similar to using usual DI box/mic preamp setup.
