Hello,
I am using Zebra 2.5 in FL Studio 9. With version 2.3 a newly selected patch in the Zebra patch selector would update automatically - with version 2.5 it doesn't anymore - one has to click outside of the FL wrapper - either on the channel/Vst button or on the channel settings box before Zebra 2.5 switches to the new patch.
Actually version 2.2 had the same misbehavior, it was fixed in 2.3, when selecting in the wrapper would update automatically - now the misgehavior is back in 2.5.
There are some other Vst where patch selection doesn't update automatically in FL Studios wrapper - like Kjaerhus Spectra (but there's not much further development going on with Spectra at the moment). Still my hope is that with Zebra, since it was already working in Version 2.3 - it might get fixed in 2.5

Ok I figured it out - no fix needed:pannoctis wrote:Hello,

For autoupdated patch selecting in the Zebra 2.5 wrapper - open FL Studio 9 wrapper settings / Settings / Visual / and activate "Don't allow keyboard focus".
After resetting the Vst - patch selecting works fine again

Hi there
I am quite confused.... I installed the 2.5 release after backing up my presets.
When I open Zebra it says up the top that I am running 2.5b11
Is this correct? Have I somehow failed to upgrade it from the last beta version?
I cant see the new HS patches and It runs in 2.3 mode by default even though it says native next to 2.5 mode.
The Zebra2.data folder is now sitting in my c:\programfiles\steinberg\vstplugins\uhe folder sitting alongside all the dlls.
I've tried installing this maybe 3 times and I still cant get it to work.
Also even though it says its registered to me under the version number, every time I right click on that area it comes up with the options:
enter regestration codes
2.3 mode
2.5 mode (native)
I'm sure it never used to ask for the reg codes after I'd put them in the 1st time in previous installations... Do I need a new serial number? is that my problem?
please any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm feeling a little sad about the whole situation

Terrafractyl,
It sounds like you have the beta installed, and you havn't pointed the installer for 2.5 to the right directory. So you might now have two installations.
Maybe it's easiest to download the pre-installed version and manually put files where you want them.
Cheers,
Urs

Urs - I'm getting problems with the latest official Zebra 2.5 and Uhbik 1.1 installations and Ableton Live 8.10.
They give an error trying to load/create the VSTplugins\*plugin*\*plugin*.data\support\com.u-he.*plugin*.midimap.txt file.
This starts when inititating Live, and crashes the host. It occurs every time.
My VST Plugins directory is installed in the Program Files (x86) directory on the C Drive of Windows 7 64bit.
Help!

I also have a problem with Zebra 2.5 and Ableton Live 8.10 where it crashes every time under start up, but Im on Mac OS 10.6.2. Reverting to Live 8.0.4 and Zebra 2.5 works fine.
I think (not 100% sure) that Live 8.10 worked with Zebra 2.3 just fine.

Ha! That's why I wrote the "INSTALL + UPDATE.pdf" that comes with the download.adam standring wrote:Urs - I'm getting problems with the latest official Zebra 2.5 and Uhbik 1.1 installations and Ableton Live 8.10.

C:/Program Files/ is *not* writable under Vista/W7, hence Zebra and all my other releases need their resources stored somewhere else.
Here's what you should do:
- move Zebra2.data to C:/Users/You/Documents/
- right-click Zebra2.data etc. and create a shortcut (symbolic link)
- move that shortcut to the folder containing Zebra2.dll in Vstplugins
- if the shortcut is named "Zebra2.data shortcut" or "Zebra2.data Verknüpfung" (German) or something, rename the shortcut to "Zebra2.data"
- repeat for Uhbik, ACE and future versions of FS, MFM2

Even though this issue involves PPC Macs.
It happens with several hosts.
Zebrify and many of the new extra presets included in Zebra 2.5.
The EQ is completely unusable.
If you try to set the eq.
It jumps around to different settings that are not anywhere that I moved them too.
It doesn't happen to any of the 2.3 presets, or any that I make myself in 2.5 mode.
It only happens with the tweaking of the new included presets.
It however, always happens when using Zebrify.
It's as if the EQ has a mind of it's own.
I'll have a new mac soon, so hope not to have this problem after, but maybe others are still on the PPC macs also.

The funny thing is that the code involved hasn't changed since Filterscape. I think it must be something on the hosting side where some algorithms freaks out that a single control object does 12 parameters at once. I betcha, if I made the EQ parameters non-automatable, everything would just calm down.MCnoone wrote:The EQ is completely unusable.

Hmmm.

I was on PPC up until recently and never had any trouble with eq controls jumping around... including the 2.5 betas... weird...Urs wrote:The funny thing is that the code involved hasn't changed since Filterscape. This might be more about processor speed.pdxindy wrote: I was on PPC up until recently and never had any trouble with eq controls jumping around... including the 2.5 betas... weird...
I think 1.33Ghz powerbook with 1gb ram isn't handling some functions too well anymore.
The eq is one, but it also can get slow downs using certain filters also.
Maybe you had a faster cpu?
I'll try it with Reaper,(I'm in Live 8.09) but I think it's my cpu speed is just too low, or the ram is.Urs wrote:I think it must be something on the hosting side where some algorithms freaks out that a single control object does 12 parameters at once.MCnoone wrote:The EQ is completely unusable.

Hmmm.
I will be getting my new Mac in couple of weeks though.
EDIT:
I was wrong.
The Zebra2.5 and Zebrify EQ problem, I'am having only happens in Live 8.09, and there is no problem in Reaper's latest version, or Garageband.

Legend you are. The sample reduction filter mode is awesome. That was pretty much the only thing I felt was missing from zebra... not anymore!
I hope you have fun here in Melbourne, hot enough for you yet?
oh and the new presets from Howard are ridicuolously good
Thanks again
