Er, the whole point of my skin was to make it less complicated and easier to work with. Hopefully you'll change your mind if you decide to try it out. :)

There are exactly the same controls on the skins only the layout differs. I've tried to group the controls as much as possible to make it more intuative where a control should be. All the Synth and effect settings are spread across the middle panel (which is also the brightest section) and all the modulation controls are across the bottom. If you decide to give my skins a go, have a look at the arrows in the Synth section, these show how the signal path travels through the synth. That should give you a good starting point. ;)

yeah i miss understood the instructions on the earlier version i guess. when i opened the archive with the two versions of the skin it was just as easy as extracting it. that synth is great! thanks!

Yes it's a "cool synth" but after trying several users presets banks, I can't help thinking that that 'random button' does more harm to the synth than expected : 3/4 presets sound like random unusable 'cygnus-like' distorted sounds.

So now that the eeezee's skin has finally made it useable (there are still too many buttons imo, but I'm not a sound designer), it would be great that a serious sound designer gets the best from that beast : )

yeah maybe people could start making patch contributions and put together a patch libray it is very worthy.

havent tried the random button yet but the random button doesnt say change randomly to your taste... patches are tasteful(most of the time(maybe)) but the random button is exactly what it says it is.

I'd be willing to try to make some patches. We could contribute enough immidiately useable (bread-n-butter) patches to creat a default bank. It could be a bank of the best. We could even vote on which patches get included into the bank. A standard bank of 128 patches, with the typical Bass, Lead, Pad, Arp, FX, etc., etc., stuff. Fuzpilz could include it with the program to show off what is available. Yeah, it sounds like a cool idea to me.

P.S. Besides, I'm a patch junkie -- I could always use another bank of great patches. :-)

Post

I know that there are a lot of great patches in the banks we already have right now. Maybe the patch creators would be kind enough to allow certain patches to be separated from their respected banks and included in this special default bank (community created bank of the best.)

If any of mine are of any use, then i hold no claims to them so to speak :P Do what you want...even rename them for all i care  :P

never had any issues with randoms?!?

only issue i got is,
that some banks have too low volume
while others seem to be o.k.

patches? where?

@ bambooman: Well, volume is an important issue if we are trying to create a "best-of" bank that really shows this thing off. :-)

@ everyone else: I REALLY like the fact that Oatmeal can get some fairly realistic Organ sounds. That's pretty unusual for a Bread-n-butter synth. We'll need to include some of them too.

I'm starting to get excited about this! :-) I'm off to play with Oatmeal and see what I can come up with.

I can't even start to figure out how to program some of the things that random can come up with. All I can do are basses and leads. Pads and crazy morphing evolving things I leave up to the random button and a bit of tweaking.

Somewhere between the original release and the current version, was the bank format changed? Pressing the load or save buttons for presets or banks does not allow .fxp or .fxb files any longer. Using the hosts default bank load works, but I cannot figure out why the synth cannot load its presets any longer?

Anyone know what happened?

D.

Post

If the bank/patch load buttons on Oatmeal's GUI ever let you load fxp/fxb files, I'd be very surprised. They are, and have always been, for Oatmeal's own formats only.

is it just me or am i not getting the delay to work right in fl 6.08?
