But then at least tell us before the beta ends which things will be added, so I can decide whether I buy it or not!
He cannot tell you. Suppose he is planning to add X feature and says it will be added... but then after working on for a good while, discovers it is just not working well with low cpu, or has some unintended consequence. Then it is necessary to drop it. Then customers are mad.

I think Urs has mentioned a fair number of things he would like to add, but they must always have an asterisk as they cannot be guaranteed.

That is why the intro price. It rewards user for taking the chance before v1 is fully finished, may still have some bugs etc.

I think the track record is pretty good for synth development from u-he

By not having this wholly unnecessary and confusing requirement to first choose a modulation source!

Remove that step, just have a modulator channel labelled 'Mod', make it a modsource in the modmatrix, and make it bipolar.

Conceptually and practically simpler, and more useful too.

Without doubt. But I'm not a rich producer and I have to spend everyone of my hard-earned Euro wisely. And I don't want to make only EDM with it, it should be capable of other sounds, too. The more versatile it is, the more I'm tempted to buy it.

Some really nice stuff in there! Looking forward to the rest of your patches for the Factory bank. :) :tu:
Cheers mate :D

Patch bank updated, now with some percs due to the OSC comp (copy and overwrite the previous one as some sounds have been tweaked and volume matched) [attached]

PS: bmrzycki, are you updating an online resource with these for U-he? If so, feel free to add them, as they'll be factory presets anyway. :)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yes, I've been putting them all in the Hive Beta zip file to make it easier for everyone to use, sort of a not-quite-factory bank for the beta. :)

I'll update the patches with these. Thanks again for sharing! BTW, if you're up to the task, I'd love to hear some really warm trance pads. The kind with slow filter openings that make me feel like I'm viewing a sunrise. :) I tried (and failed) to do so. I'll have to keep trying!

Oh yes, for sure. I've not even gotten to making pads yet (only two, and they were just test pads). Will definitely do ;)

It isn't more useful, it is less... having a bipolar control is independent of the ability to choose the modulator for the CC lane.

and OMG, one little obvious step... the horror!! (and that is what you are calling byzantine and overly-complicated :hihi: )

I'll take the added flexibility of being able to choose... I like the way the manual modwheel interacts with the sequencer.

More importantly, I also like that I can have a preset that is set up to use the modwheel on a bunch of parameters and I can turn the sequencer on and not have to redo those Mod Source assignments. I can just assign the modwheel to the CC lane in the sequencer and not have to change the modmatrix. Much more convenient for turning the sequencer on and off on a given preset.

Then wait... and buy Hive later.

HOW du you turn it on or off? If i set it to modwheel,
-i have to choose some target in the mod matrix also: pitch or filter or whatever,-
it's already running no matter if the Mw is
up or down...i don't understand :? Can you describe a useful example?

I hope i can show for you some of them very soon, just don't have time to record and upload
the presets now. But it's very promising pads, i like them

The CC lane can be set to off. Is that what you mean?

Post

if is off then nothing will happen with the controller.

I thought i can set it to a CC, like a Modwheel and have some control over that part, but i cant find the way to
modulate real time. I set some numbers on the CC line and that is works, but nothing will happen if i turn the modwheel.
So why it is there?

If you have modwheel selected for the CC lane and are using the Modulate or Play mode, then each step will adjust the modwheel to that value as set by the step. Your physical modwheel will change the step value only during a single step and that will be 'reset' by the following step.

So if you leave the modwheel stationary, it will have no affect regardless of where it is.
