So you wanted to be the one to tell them that their 8GB vs 64GB discussion was irrelevant for a 1 GB library (for the entire library of 8 instruments)?Astralp wrote:It's more about CPU than memory, my Kosmology sequencer uses a fair amount of CPU due to all the intensive processing needed to target/sequence the different destinations in realtime. An unrelated question (to both the current topic and to the Bargain Center), but would it be possible to create a Kontakt version of your Black Magic? Maybe not now considering that K6 might be around the corner (well, right around the corner in software development time), but had I remained on Windows I would gladly continue using Black Magic. It's remained the only "groove" machine device I ever liked using.

I do have plans to do some drum/rhythm type scripting but it's just the amount of development time it takes which is tough for me to fund these days. Black magic took a very intensive year to develop way back when, and didn't sell particularly well. I can't take such big gambles these days as much as I would love to be doing development along those lines. I'll think about it though, it may actually port well to Kontakt! The only downside it that it's not easy to import/build user Kits in Kontakt.elxsound wrote:An unrelated question (to both the current topic and to the Bargain Center), but would it be possible to create a Kontakt version of your Black Magic? Probably not the best programming either.Uncle E wrote:Frustrating. I also prefer smaller libraries but there's no point if it kills the CPU.Numanoid wrote:The big red flag is that it is CPU intensive, you need a good system to have full enjoyment of it. I think 16GB RAM is needed

No it doesn't work well for importing/building user kits. Black Magic also has the option for exporting a loop which wouldn't carry over into Kontakt, plus existing users might expect a crossgrade (which could be either beneficial or a detriment for sales depending on many variables). Don't worry, I definitely understand the funding vs gambling bit and 1 user's request is not much to go on, especially when there's already quite a bit of competition in the Kontakt ensemble rhythm spectrum. If you ever do go that route, you at least have that very same 1 enthusiastic user (for what ever that's worth).Astralp wrote:I do have plans to do some drum/rhythm type scripting but it's just the amount of development time it takes which is tough for me to fund these days. It's actually worth a great deal to me, and very nice to hearelxsound wrote:If you ever do go that route, you at least have that very same 1 enthusiastic user (for what ever that's worth).

LOL... I decided to avoid that topic.elxsound wrote:So you wanted to be the one to tell them that their 8GB vs 64GB discussion was irrelevant for a 1 GB library (for the entire library of 8 instruments)?Astralp wrote:It's more about CPU than memory, my Kosmology sequencer uses a fair amount of CPU due to all the intensive processing needed to target/sequence the different destinations in realtime. Not really, of course i know that the ram discussion isn't that relevant in this case (especially with Kontakts DFD) but if you have 8GB only also the CPU will unlikely be up2date. So no need to talk about basic stuff. I was just to lazy to fight with Numanoid yesterday so i just captured his 8gb spec and added that i have 64GB and a Xeon (yes i mentioned the CPU).Gribs wrote:LOL... OK, so machine specs aside:
What is your impression of the Archetype bundle so far, the included instruments, and features. Obviously you have bought it and have used it for some time to enter into a discussion about it.
Is it worthy to buy at half price or not?

For the 50% deal it is a killer. I bought it since it also support NKS which is really great and as mentioned with the sale it is worth every buck (10 for a single instrument). I found some of them great and others less interesting. Didn't worked deep with them yet but soundwise my favourites are Clone and Hatchet but again it is just the first impression.Numanoid wrote:OK, so machine specs aside:

Any thoughts on Sickness and Pulsator?murnau wrote:For the 50% deal it is a killer. Clone is also among my favourites. I think so far I like Rogue One the best, a great sounding mono synth, the controls for the OSCs and filters are really responsive.
Sickness, so far it has lead to FL Studio launcher stopped working twice. Maybe my system isn't up for it?
Soundwise, Pulsator doesn't really stand that much apart from Clone, it is a decent synth.

The scripting is on all instruments fantastic and let you control the sounds very deep. Also the GUI is inspiring and the stepseq is total fun to use. Not much to say about Sickness and Pulsator atm. I think for EDM it's great, pretty sure a Virus was sampled as well.
