Native Instruments 50% off all Komplete 10 Updates, Upgrades, and Crossgrades:

No Downloads ??? (seeking upgrade from 9-->10)
you can get the same deal of 50% off from the N.I website and its a download on there.
I think postage is free from NI - so I'd want the drive if upgrading...wouldn't I?

Also any ideas about:
a) what else might be in Komplete Ultimate 11 thats new and not Reaktor?
b) When are we likely to see Komplete 11 ...and when will we then see a sale of half price on Komplete 11

For Ultimate, yes.

Probably new libraries.
b) When are we likely to see Komplete 11 ...and when will we then see a sale of half price on Komplete 11
In the past, they put the full versions on sale right before releasing new versions.

Thanks Eric, that's what I thought. Is a new Kontakt anywhere near?

I currently own Session Horns Pro, Rise & Hit and Action Strings.

If I upgrade to Komplete 10 Ultimate, which includes those three products, can I sell the previously-purchased individual product licenses?

TIA.

EDIT: Never mind, found it.

No download for Komplete from us, unfortunately. NI doesn't give us much room to discount but I'll figure something out.

Thanks, but I wouldn't buy phisycal goods form the US. Shipping and custom are way too much. Thanks for the effort though ;-)

Wow! I've been waiting for a while to buy BlackHole. This is an absolute no-brainer.

The step sequencer on each instrument, along with the Beatdown drum machine, also means that it can function as a groovebox
Thank you guys both...

I've been watching video reviews for a while and was sure I wanted it, but reading your thoughts on them (even if they are early impressions) does help.

After the eDNA purchase, I wasn't really looking so forward to another leap of faith.

And by the way... anyone who does purchase eDNA, the extra preset pack from KVR's The Unfinished is wonderful. They should have just paid him to do all the presets for it, because the rest you have to search for the gems (and there's 1000 of them to search through), and for Matt's your stuck deciding between so many different great options.
Wow, I like the eDNA library quite a bit. I spent a couple of hours watching and listening to the youtube patch demos before I bought it and it is exactly what I expected. I guess that if you are looking for a synth that allows you to do your own mangling at the sample level it is probably not an appropriate option, though. Maybe a better option for that might be to make your own sample sets and use something like Halion or Falcon.

I spent time going through the videos showcasing the presets, but what they don't explain is that the samples are all processed. I really thought that much of the preset design would have been completed with the scripted Kontakt engine, which is not the case at all (as you well know). When I watched the video, my thought was that this is what you can create utilizing the Kontakt engine.

That obviously was my mistake.

Now on the other hand, when you look at what Matt did with the Kinematic expansion, it shows there's more ground to cover even with that same processed content as I don't think (and could be wrong here) that his expansion introduces any new sampled content, just presets using the existing samples. Again as mentioned before, I'm a fan of what he did with this expansion library.

As for Halion or Falcon, I'm not interested. Its not the need for creating from just any samples, but it was more an interest in working with content from the back catalog of Spitfire Audio that caught my attention. I'm sure it was an absolute blast for the sound designers to work with.
Gribs wrote:I bought the Achetype bundle but have not had a chance to try it out yet - very busy with other priorities with work and family. Tonight I am going to the Minnesota DFL caucus meeting... so again not tonight. Our oldest, who is 17 now, will be eligible to vote in the Nov election. Here in MN that allows him to participate in the caucuses. It will be his first caucus - exciting times.
I still haven't purchased yet as I have family visiting... so also not much time to play. Presidential elections are great times to turn 18. :tu:

Great times indeed for your kid, Gribs, growing up in the midst of this remarkable circus. You'll have to guide him though!

I was hoping you would have a discount on this. I would prefer the boxed version.

You could always use my service which turns ANY physical software product into a download for people outside of the US. :)

If it truly is cheaper to purchase from US vendors, you can order through me, and I will place the media on my Private Cloud for you to download with private links, and I'll provide you with your serial number from the box. :)

I sort of think of JRR Shop as an online business, but in Los Angeles one can go there to hang out and shop gear

You would download about 440gb. I don't like how NI does the new downloads.
