i finally got it working with three of nicfit's mungracks and one midichannelfilter, the latter being automated by the same cc as the sync switch. pheww. probably NOT the most elegant approach, but it's working.
now i only have to figure out if this is actually any good, or if it's just bloody confusing to even bother playing around with the two times on the fly. maybe i just wasted hours of my time for nothing.
(well, it was rewarding, so it's not a big deal at all if i don't even happen to take advantage of the work....
