No, it just sounds brighter because the original skin is much much darker.
imagine what a pink skin could do! :hihi:

Obviously its my own deficiency, but after a good few months with it, Zebra just doesnt work in my mixes. Lots of the presets are inspiring, but Ive yet to finish a track without substituting it out for something else (usually the Korg or Gmedia stuff.) Very subjectively and unscientifically, it sounds too digital somehow (sorry.) Irritatingly, Ive had the same thing with Massive.

Zebra2 can do Virus FmMode "Tri" but not "PosTri" AFAIK.

Z2 does a pretty good DX7. Equivalent of up to 8-operators (because you can use normal OSCs as modulators).

I can kind of relate to this. Massive and Zebra both seem to have a bit of a sharp, edgy quality that can be hard to tame. The GMedia stuff almost always just slots right in.

Actually, one of the things I really liked about the Virus was that tracks just kind of came together when I was using it. Parts fit without a lot of fine-tuning and eq. The main downside was that things could sometimes get a little muddy with too many dark Virus parts playing.

FabFilter Twin is a bit like that. It's much softer than Zebra in it's general sound (even the "hard" presets) and does seem to 'gel' really nicely in mixes. However, it can get a tad muddy, just like the virus.

Btw. Twin sounds nothing at all like a virus.. just wanted to clarify that bit. :)

Cheers!

I've noticed that too. It's easy to drop Twin into a track but after three or four Twin parts I have to start fine-tuning them out of each other's way.

Twin is awesome!!

Specially for techno.

From the looks of Zebra, I have to try this bad boy.

K here we go, i found some sparetime today and what i did was listen to some of the last part of the v-clipse2 demo. This is NOT a copy of that demo but inspired by it and i only picked from a tiny part of it.

I only used Zebra delay, didnt use reverb, and the mix is straight out of zebra so it might clip cause i used no limiter or anything. Damn hard to get the volume up without limiter heh heh

Anyways, here is my bid, be gentle to the home team ;) Guess its no use saying i could do it better heh heh, but really i could, but that would slow down the Oldskool project even more sooo, hope you like it :)

:hyper: Lovin' the 303esque backing on the track

Since these presets aren't exactly Oldskool is there any chance you might zip them up for the masses?

Know what, i think i'll leave a space for the 2 303's and the sweeping phaser thing in the Vol 2. Right now the patches are a mess and needs some cleaning up. I could however zip up the 303's for the man who keeps the Zebra presets submissions in neat order, ohhh thats you ;) bmrzycki send me a PM telling where to send them.

Excellent as usual... I don't have a Virus to compare to. All I know is that you make Zebra sound fantastic. Love your work!

Is the 303sound zebra?
Favourite movie: Borat

Mike's probably gone to bed after a hard day's "work", but I guess I could answer that:
It's all Zebra (including the 303s and the drum sounds).

Yes,

I like that. While these sounds are well programmed (and show off Zebra in a good way!) such sounds are not the ones that tempt me to get a Virus. Nevertheless: Well done!

I really am not hearing what you guys are hearing.....I listen to the v-clipse demo and with the exception of the drums ALL the parts move me and would inspire me..... I listen to the Z2 Challenge Demo, which by the way is one of the best uses of Zebra2 I have heard.....but there is no part on it that doesn't sound cold and digital to me....
I really must be missing something.
